Ultra-recomendable! :D

The screen is unreadable with polarized sunglasses on. Living in Florida and being outside means having to remove your sunglasses every time the phone is used.
I’m landscape it is fine, portrait mode is a purple mess.
The screen has a very large bezel that is quite high and limited swipes from all sides. I noted lagginess often with swipes.
The folding mechanism is nice to have but the compromises are huge. The screen is plasticy to feel, the seam is very noticeable to see and feel. The outside screen window is pretty useless except for the time of day.
All said, at $1,500 there are much better options out there. It is t prime time for foldables yet in my opinion
The Fallen World: The Complete Series
The Fallen World: The Complete Series
I am a huge fan of Laura Thalassa and a majority of her work.

The world itself is unique and so able to relate to. It’s post atomic bomb, WWIII, and the world we know it is in shambles and dying a slow radiation death. One of a kind. Mrs. Thalassa is able to throw in action, love, hatred, mystery, and a bit of sci-fi into one amazing read with these three books.

Serenity is our leading lady. She’s just a young girl whose lived through war and tragedy. She’s a fighter. She’s emotionally driven and one of the key things that I really admired about her, is that she didn’t lose sight of listening to her gut and following the hard taught lessons. She’s a fish swimming against the current. Constantly at battle, constantly fighting for her life, constantly facing the tough task of making the decisions for the world and herself and weighing them against them line of loyalty, love, or righteousness.

Montes Lazuli the king of the world. He’s everything you’d expect of a villain. A self centered, immortal king who has nothing personal to lose and everything to gain.

This series is mind blowing, frustrating, and so full of gut wrenching indecision on who you want to win and where the real question should love really conquer all at this time? Some many characters, one heck of a ride, and so worth the sleepless nights with this page turner.

Note: I listened to book 1 on audible, and read the last two books via kindle. The story is amazing both/either way.
Red Dog Rising
Red Dog Rising
I once owned a single-minded English Springer Spaniel that had a great nose and loved to use it (albeit on his terms, not mine)for locating things that only a dog would love. He would venture forth with me into the woods, running well ahead of me and happily following an invisible trail of doggy-delectable air molecules and come back sometimes covered in burrs, or with the slime of a barely liguified puddle or (once) someone's exposed septic field. We also played a great game of hide and seek, me being the quarry and him being the hunter. I usually had to pay off with a cookie if I was found. I can't remember a game where he ever did not find me. Quickly. All of this, while fun (for him, mostly)was just play without discipline or training. Years later, I discovered "Red Dog Rising" by Jeff Schettler, and found in it the same love for life and for scent locating, this time belonging to a police K9 officer named Ronin, a Bloodhound, and his master/partner, Schettler. It turns out that what we were playing at is something the pros-- both canine and human-- can and do spend a lifetime developing.

In the book, Schettler spends some time explaining the difference between trailing and tracking. It's an important distinction, because a dog that trails its quarry is emulating the way that related wild animals, such as coyotes or wolves, pursue prey. Tracking is a more human-imposed method of assuming that the scent of the quarry lies on the ground in a path that can be followed. Trailing allows a dog to use its own innate logic and senses to most directly get to the thing or person being sought. Although sometimes the description of how training a dog to trail the origin of a scent can become a bit technical, it is still interesting and educational, and does not overwhelm.

The book is well written and Schettler does not cut corners on his and Ronin's memoirs, which sometimes takes the reader on a trail of its own. Not every story delivers a punch line, but they're all real, if not interesting, and since Schettler and Ronin share an obvious bond and affection, the seriousness and gravity of some the searches are balanced with levity and love. These are the good guys, and there is enough excitement mixed in to Schettler's narrative to make this book well worth the time, especially if you are, like me, a lover of large, slightly crazy dogs who love cookies and fighting crime.
Marvel Comics Spider-Man Season 4
Marvel Comics Spider-Man Season 4
The entire series is one of the best ever created. I find it as good as, but different from, Batman: The Animated Series. Spiderman has a lot of internal exposition from Peter Parker showing his trials and tribulations as a young man juggling all the different aspects of his life. Batman doesn't have so much angst because he is a middle-aged man who has developed his human abilities. So the main difference between the two characters is choice. What makes this Spiderman series so outstanding is the number of multi-episode story archs, and how entire seasons compose one overall arch. This show is the only example of this technique that I know, and it really sets it apart as a masterwork.
Walter Simonson's The Mighty Thor Artisan Edition
Walter Simonson's The Mighty Thor Artisan Edition
First let me state that I’m a professional artist, and I adore IDW’s artist editions. They are some of the best collectible books I’ve ever seen. I have been wanting this Thor book for quite a while, but the original hardcover is out of print, and quite expensive, so I opted for this much more affordable softcover. It’s gorgeous, as all artist/artisan books are, but as of my purchase in Aug 2020, there is a printing error, which cuts out two pages in chapter 2, and replaces them with two pages from chapter 3. It’s not the end of the world, but I thought it was worth mentioning, since I haven’t seen any online reviews that said anything about it. Otherwise, the book is a treasure and Walt Simonson’s art is top notch. It would get 5 stars, save for the printing mistake.
Avengers Hawkeye Special Big Bad Bow
Avengers Hawkeye Special Big Bad Bow
This is such a fun Nerf toy! My 11 year old daughter and 5 year old daughter love it as much as it's 9 year old owner! :-) It was actually the hit a recent tea party with preschool aged girls. Even a three year old figured it out and played over and over. The "Brave" tie in is the best for the girls. The price on Amazon can't be beat. I have to admit, this toy gets put in time out regularly -- because the kids can't seem to stop playing with it inside the house. The "arrows" are safe and no one's gotten hurt yet. If I had to do it again, I would have bought one for each kid in our house!
Doctor Strange Vol. 3: Blood in the Aether
Doctor Strange Vol. 3: Blood in the Aether
This picks up right after the last days of magic arc, with magic in the marvel universe almost completely gone. That demands a different approach by doc strange, which takes the form of the doctor using weapons like bars and knives so read of his usual magic hands. This coupled with the gauntlet of his rogues gallery coming for him in this weakened state, forms the backbone of this volume. It was all entertaining in its way, but the never ending March of villain appearances never gave me the time to understand them in any real way. Satanna and the orb got this particularly bad, as the irb is just there for some extended joke lines about how weird he is, and satanna is seemingly there just to be a hot lady with cleavage. Still , it does a nice job setting up the new status quo of the marvel magical sphere, with a much greater reliance on magical instruments instead of the usual spells.

Uarter Adjustable Rolling Pin with Thickness Rings and Silicone Baking Pastry Mat Set,Stainless Steel Dough Roller with Fondant Tools and Dough Cutter for Baking, Pizza, Pie, Pastries, Pasta, Cookies

Clip: Lord of the Rings: Middle Earth Shadow of War Gameplay
Computer game based on the LOTR trilogy. I am a fan of LOTR but I am not a gamer. This is watching some gamer as he/she completes certain levels of this LOTR: Shadow of War Gameplay. I found it interesting. The fight scenes were 'thrilling' and action-packed. I liked the characters. Some were old favorites (Gollum) and some were new takes on old favorites (Shelob), and the main guy, the Ranger, was based on Strider but was not a carbon copy. All in all, it held my interest for the three episodes, which surprised me. Try it. You may like it, too. I took away one star for the goriness.
Golden in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel
Golden in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel
Throughout this series some reviewers have complained because not all of Eve's ever-growing circle of friends have been included in each book. While Roarke's Irish family appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth (and the other planets in which he has an interest), and there are lots of characters from earlier books from whom I'd like to see an occasional appearance (Nixie Swisher; Father Chale Lopez; Ariel Greenfield, etc), Golden in Death, although there's a brief appearance from Charles and Louise, and a heartwarming encounter with Dennis Mira, concentrates wholly on Eve and Peabody's tracking down of the killers using an extremely localised noxious gas to kill specific targets. We see all of Eve's investigative team, Morris, Berenski, Harvo, but, other than a brief nod to the ongoing bad-taste socks and ties competition within the bullpen, they're there purely to carry out their duties in the background.
The investigation covers a part of society to which Robb returns often, and her battles with lawyers, arrogant spoilt brats, and those who consider themselves above the law are well up to standard. No spoilers, but you really have to read Peabody's response to someone who pours scorn on Dallas, state school attendees, and Free-Agers - brilliant!
While I can see no value in the sex passages between Dallas and Roarke - possibly a hangover from the days of M&B and the requirement for sex every so many pages - there are some genuinely moving moments between the two of them, and I'm living in hope that Eve's finally getting rid of some of the unnecessary baggage from her past, which, at one stage in the series, became almost a cut-and-paste in every book.
Golden in Death is worth every penny, and now I'll have to wait at least another 6 months for the next one to appear.

Great book. Janet Dailey is the best light romance author in my estimation.
Naruto: Sasuke's Story--Star Pupil (Naruto Novels)
Naruto: Sasuke's Story--Star Pupil (Naruto Novels)

Decoded: Dan Brown's Lost Symbol
Decoded: Dan Brown's Lost Symbol
In every "decoded" documentary, Robinson has the exact same approach. He goes to a venue to challenge a factual or hypothetical conclusion drawn from Dan Brown, finds one person generally a no-name historian who disagrees with Brown's perspective and then Robinson quickly accept it as scripture and declares the conclusion as false. He demonstrates nothing more than a cursory over view at best and nothing close to an investigation. Case in point, the claim that the road system in DC has masonic influence. There are dozens and dozens of resources in DC as well as historical journals that support this idea, yet Robinson finds one architect in DC that disagrees and the next thing you know Robinson claims to have heroically denounced "another Dan Brown myth". No interview or investigation of clearly available alternative perspective. Or when he goes to a Masonic temple in London, and asks the masonic guide if there are any secret rituals (as if any esoteric organization would divulge "secret" information) to which the guide responds no. And simply based on that, Tony declares that there is nothing secret about Masons, because a Mason told him so. REALLY???? And OJ said he didn't do it Tony...... We could have saved so much time with his trial if Tony would have handled the investigation. Tony, your lack of objectivity and belief that your viewers will entertain your shallow efforts to denounce anything at all, is insulting to the people who wasted 50 minutes watching your attempt to champion your vendetta against a novelist. Whether this stuff is true or not who knows, but when you say your are decoding or investigating the facts, be objective, actually investigate.
Becoming Astrid
Becoming Astrid
To understand the movie, it helps to know a few things.

This was in the 1920s and the Social Democrats and the
Communists were still in the process of subverting the
iron-grip of the State-Church (Swedish-Lutheran).
The message from the pulpits was: Work hard and obey
your masters. They are wiser than you; that is why God
set things up as He did. You will get your reward for all
eternity in Heaven after you die.

Needless to point out, this was a happy tune to the
owner (capitalist) class and also to the large land-owner
class. The greatest part of the population lived in a
serf or tenant-farmer society still. Class mobility was
a new idea.

The labor unions had not yet established many
work-related reforms, but there were working
on these things.

There was no free medical care, although there was
universal education for those whose parents could spare
them the time to be in school.

Women were paid only a small amount for jobs
for which men were paid much more.

Astrid's family were partly employed through the Church
and the land and the house they lived on was owned by the
Church. This put them even more under the thumb of
holy tyranny, compared to only having to keep up
appearances for the neighbors (which was still extreme
at that time).

So, these are some of the factors which caused the story
to go as it did.

Anything Clifford is a winner in my home with grandkids. Pops and I now have 12 (ages 22 months - 17) grandkids and we needed a new supply! The fun part now is seeing the older kids read to the younger ones. These books are sturdy, colorful, fun and delightful to read - not too long, not too short!

In search of Bisco
In search of Bisco
This is the first and only non-fiction work of Erskine Caldwell I’ve ever read, but that should come as no surprise given that this is the only non-fiction work he produced in his lifetime.

Is it worth reading? Absolutely! In it, he achieves the same monstrosity of purpose he achieves with his fictional work. But here, he’s not inventing; he’s just reporting. The only thing I found slightly annoying was the change of narrator chapter to chapter. I suppose he had a purpose; I just don’t know what it was.

In any case, here follow a few examples of Caldwell’s exceptional prose to let you decide if this work of non-fiction is for you.

On p. 90, we find: “(a)ll might be well in Laurel, as it could be elsewhere in Mississippi, if prideful residents of the northside would look at least as far away as the southside of their town even if they do not wish to see beyond the borders of their own state. As it is, and as though it is a way to avoid embarrassment, they fail to acknowledge their responsibility for the poverty and degradation of the Negro families on the southside and ignore the fact that it was the labor of Negroes that enabled them to accumulate wealth and social pretensions.

But customs prevail. And arrogance predominates. Instead of acting upon his responsibility as a citizen in modern America to alleviate and adjust economic and social discrimination imposed upon the Negro for generations, the white supremist is intent upon striving by any means to enforce a perpetuation of racial injustice that originated long ago in the time of slavery. As long as this custom can be maintained, the conscience of the white supremist will be quiet and undisturbed. Enforcement of the custom ranges from intimidation to physical punishment to violent death.”

On p. 105, we find this rather trenchant observation from a local African-American looking desperately to bury his father: “(y)ou don’t know how poor poor can be till you get too poor to be buried in the ground.”

And finally, on p. 167, we find: “(t)he red clay hills are undoubtedly more deeply eroded and gully-washed, the sky-line of jagged pines probably juts higher against the horizon, the stark spires of crumbling brick chimneys have become melancholy monuments to homes burned to ashes, briar thickets and clumps of beggar-lice have been quick to claim possession of abandoned cotton fields, and the gaunt granite gravestones in the cemetery have taken on the somber gray moss of age and oblivion.”

Say what you will about Caldwell’s social criticism. When the man wants to wax lyrical in his prose, he has only to remove one cap and replace it with another. And that—to me, at least—is the best kind of writer!

David : Warrior and King : A Biblical Biography
David : Warrior and King : A Biblical Biography
I was very glad to have found this book in a hard cover edition. I have had a well-worn paperback copy of the book for 40 years and have read it twice over the years. Recently I wanted to read it again, but, fearing that my threadbare paperback version would disintegrate if I touched it, I was happy to find a hard cover version on Amazon. The familiar bible story of King David is beautifully and authentically told in a way that brings the story to life, yet remain very true to the biblical account. From a young shepherd boy to an aging patriarch, David is brought to life in a way that is both educational and inspirational. Of particular enjoyment is how the author integrates David's many Psalms into the narrative of his life.
Sorcerers Dragon Clan & Human Wizard Deluxe Box Set
Sorcerers Dragon Clan & Human Wizard Deluxe Box Set
Just received mine today. First thing you will notice is how much smaller this figure is then the previous two deluxe dragons. It's basically the same size as the regular assortment just with a longer tail and larger wings. The arms and wings themselves are extremely fragile; ive noticed that fragility seems to be a MacFarlane norm these days. Aside from the above it's a great looking dragon, although the friendly expression could have been better if it were aggressive.

Red Devil 077050 Lifetime Ultra Premium Elastomeric Acrylic Latex Sealant, Gray, 10.1 Oz, Pack of 1
I chose clear Red Devil Lifetime Ultra Premium for its protection against mold and mildew, to replace cracked regular latex caulk over the top edge of quarter round moulding at the base of my bathtub. It was thinner than expected during application, but it firmed up as well as a non-water-resistant elastomeric sealant I had used on baseboards in other rooms. I painted over it lightly after about an hour, and it held up fine. Mistakes were easy to wipe up using Windex. With temps as low as the 20s at night, there is enough temperature variation in the house to test the elastomeric qualities, and Red Devil hasn't cracked so far (less than one month). I'm impressed with elastomeric sealant in general, and this is now my top choice where water-resistance is needed indoors. I haven't tried it outdoors, so can't comment on that.
Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee Season 13
Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee Season 13
I only watch this show for Cocktail time, but it's the best cooking show segment ever. Her splash of alcohol is a Shamu-doing-a-cannonball-sized splash. She adds a drop of soda to meet the criteria for a cocktail and a 1/4 tsp of any beverage that matches today's drapes. I always assumed that this segment is filmed first and the whole crew is hammered during the filming of the rest of the episode. I suggest you make yourself a cocktail before you watch each episode and play a drinking game while you watch.

The best thing about this show is that there's no need to write things down because the instructions for most of her recipes are printed on the boxes of the products that she uses.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts: The Great Hall Pop-Up Card
Harry Potter: Hogwarts: The Great Hall Pop-Up Card
I bought this card on faith as there wasn't any photo of it to know what you were buying. The card itself is lovely and well worth the money BUT it didn't work very well. The runners for the great hall (in order to extend to the fullness it should) were bent on both sides. Being bent meant that the sides of the hall did not open as well as they should have opened. It was difficult to extend the sides but looks lovely when fully opened. Problem was probably in the manufacture of the sides. The runners were split and bent and that could not have happened in shipping as nothing on the outside of the card indicated it was creased in shipment. If the runners worked smoothly it would have been an excellent card. As is, it doesn't open the way it should. Also all of the benches open up as they should but the one on the extreme right side stays flat. Once again I am sure it is in the manufacturing of the card and not the shipment that caused this. It is a very lovely complex design if it worked like it should.
B-Land Cell Phone Holder, Universal Mobile Phone Stand, Lazy Bracket, DIY Flexible Mount Stand with Multiple Function (Black)
B-Land Cell Phone Holder, Universal Mobile Phone Stand, Lazy Bracket, DIY Flexible Mount Stand with Multiple Function (Black)
I've had this for 24 hours and I'm already in love with it! I wanted something simple and hands free to use to film with my iphone without needing to get into serious "gear". All of the other similar items I was looking at had holders that blocked the camera on the back of the phone, so they were only good for watching things on your screen, not recording something in front of you. This one has a holder that is not as big (yet still strong) and it doesn't block the lens of my phone camera on the back. And the swivel head allows me to shoot portrait or landscape and anything in between. I have an iPhone 7 Plus (large screen) with a heavy shatter proof case and the expandable holder fits it no problem. I've already posted some video and my friends are like "How did you shoot that?" The cable is very strong and sturdy. It doesn't have a padding for the neck area but I don't feel it even needs it. Cable attaches to phone holder with two strong magnets. Super happy with this purchase :)
