Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett
Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett
I’ve read most of the biographies of Warren Buffett, but I consider this to be the definitive biography. There are several reasons. This book has been developed over a period of many years (around 25, at this point) and is the result of dedicated research and writing. The author has access to Mr. Buffett that most writers do not, and you can see this in the various letters and documents that Buffett has provided for publication. Each year, Buffett personally selects a group of books to be sold at the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting in Omaha and every year this book is chosen. This kind of endorsement by Buffett is probably the only reason you really need to pick up a copy.

At the 2016 meeting, one book was selected for “super highlighting” by creation of a giant version of the book cover for display. This is that book. Although I think I keep up with everything going on with Buffett, I am always amazed when I read the updated version and discover new facts. This latest version contains a nice recap of the premiere of the HBO Documentary Becoming Warren Buffett. The insight provided by Mr. Kilpatrick is available because he was there. You probably don’t get invited to a premiere like that without being fairly well-connected. It is this connection you can take advantage of by reading (and re-reading) this book.

There is great humor, insight and information in this book. You'll learn about an incredible personality and be truly entertained in the process. My bookshelf has several books on Warren Buffett, but Mr. Kilpatrick's is my favorite.
Jeff Bezos: Amazon and the eBook Revolution (Titans of Fortune)
Jeff Bezos: Amazon and the eBook Revolution (Titans of Fortune)
I downloaded this e-book hoping it would have something insightful and thought-provoking to say about Jeff Bezos. I was pretty disappointed. The "book" is hardly long enough to be called a book. It isn't much more than biographical information you can find on the internet. I would recommend you try something else, or even just go to wikipedia. this isn't worth your time or your 2 dollars.
The Law of Success
The Law of Success
If you want to see my opinion on this book go to my blog: imeducatingmyself.com/law-success-napoleon-hill-book-review

I will post here what this book is all about:

This book can put as a excellent reading material for those who are searching Self-help, Self-development and Self-improvements books to help them gain more confidence boost.

In next part I will summarize what every chapter in this book talks about; but everything is much more in depth described in book. And I’ll add some good quotes (in my opinion) that I’ve came across in this book.

In first part you’ll learn about most outstanding weaknesses that stands between men and women, and those are:

Intolerance
Cupidity
Greed
Jelaousy
Suspicion
Revenge
Egotism
Conceit
The tendency to reap where they have not shown
Habit to spend more than they earn
“No man has a chance to enjoy permanent success until he begins to look in the mirror for the real cause of all his mistakes.“
In next chapter we will find 15 Laws of Success:

A definite chief aim
Self-confidence
Habit of saving
Initiative and Leadership
Imagination
Enthusiasm
Self-control
The habit of doing more than paid for
Pleasing personality
Accurate thinking
Concentration
Co-operation
Profiting by failure
Tolerance
Practicing the Golden Rule
“Render more service than that for which you are paid and you will soon be paid for more than you render. The law of ‘Increasing Returns‘ takes care of this.“
When it comes to Power (man power), that is organized knowledge, expressed through intelligent efforts. And we all have stubborn enemies that are constantly watching over us and wait for us to make a mistake. Our enemies are:

Ignorance
Illiteracy
Poverty
One important fact that author is teaching us that every man should have a woman with him that shares similar personalities – That is a great way to create a “Master Mind” group, than working on working on co-operating with other successful like-minded people. Same rule applies to women also, they can’t succeed in life the man with her is not similar to her.

When it comes to educating ourselves, one important part author has written; It’s not about learning as much as we can, it’s about taking that knowledge and putting it into use.

“If you cannot do great things yourself, remember that you may do small things in a great way.”
We all have fears that we need to work on overcoming those fears; and those fears are:

Fear of poverty
Fear of death
Fear of ill-health
Fear of the loos of love
Fear of old age
Fear of criticism
“Until a man selects a definite purpose in life he dissipates his energies and spread his thoughts over so many subjects and in so many different directions that they lead not to power, but to indecision and weakness.”
Author has added in book a simple Self-confidence formula that we can use:

Demand from yourself to be persistent, aggressive, and continuous action toward attainment.
Figure it out and visualize what kind of person you want to be. And then focus on how to become one.
Spend at least 10 minutes a day thinking about Law of Success and thinking on developing yourself.
Write in advance what you want to be in next 5 years, and how you plan on achieve that.
Fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built upon truth and justice; There for everything you do need to be beneficial for everyone who is involved in your business and plans.
“The only man who makes no mistakes is the man who never does anything. Do not be afraid of mistakes providing you do not make the same one twice.” – Roosevelt
When it comes getting into dept, there are two types of debt that are mentioned by author:

There are debt incurred for luxuries which becomes a dead loss.
There are debts incurred in the course of professional or business trading which represents service or merchandise that can be converted back into assets.
The first one it should be avoided at any cause, because we can get into serious trouble by spending money on things that we can afford, and become all materialistic.

The second on one may be indulged in, but clear judgement need to be used to avoid getting into debt more than we can afford. When we get into world of debt which we cannot afford, then we are entering into world of speculation, and most likely that we can loose everything rather than getting enrich.

When it comes to Money Saving Habit, there are two main reason to do that:

If you get opportunity to invest your saving and earn more money
You never know what kind of emergency can come up, so you always need to have money on side for that kind of situations
“Those who don’t have Saving Habit can be sure that they’ve never going to become financially independent.”
Three ways on how to become person of Initiative and Leadership:

You must eliminate habit of procrastination; which means stop delaying your plans
Only way to get happiness is by giving it away, to others
You must understand the meaning of term “Leadership”; because there are two explanation: the one is deadly and destructive, the other one is helpful and constructive.
Qualities that every great leader have to possess are:

Self-confidence
Moral ascendancy
Self-sacrifice
Paternalism
Fairness
Initiative
Decision
Dignity
Courage
Successful leaders also makes use of:

Laws of imagination
Self-control
Pleasing personality
Accurate thinking
Concentration
Tolerance
When it comes to Imagination Habit; it’s very important because it pushes you forward into creating way to achieve success. Also, Imagination is the only thing that we can control entirely.

Enthusiasm Habit is a state of where you are inspired to take action. It is most important factor entering into salesmanship. Enthusiasm is the vital force that can be harness and use with profit. It can also help you develop a dynamic personality.

Why should we render more service than that which we are paid for? This would give us advantage over ours competitors in the long run. And as author has stated, this will eventually get paid out.

Learning how to be a Pleasing Personality it’s very important in business; from smile, handshake and overall behaviour. When selling something everything needs to be focused on customer, every question asked and not to ourselves.

There are tips on how we can form an Attractive Personality:

Form habit of interesting yourself in other people
Develop the ability to speak with force and conviction
Clothe yourself in a style that is becoming to your physical build and the work you’r engaged in
Develop a positive character
Learn how to shake hands properly
Remember that your only limitation is the one you set up in your own mind
Accurate thinker deals with facts, regardless of they affect hi own interest, for he knows that ultimately this policy will bring him out on top, in full possession of the object of his definite chief aim in life.

To learn How to Think Accurately we must understand:

That the mind can be controlled, guided and directed to creative, constructive ends.
That the mind can be directed to destructive ends, unless we manage to control it into constructive ways.
That the mind can be used to control every cell in our bodies.
That all achievement of man is the results of his thoughts.
The majority of all thoughts conceived in the minds of men are not accurate, being more in the nature of “opinions” or “snap-judgement”
Concentration is the act of focusing the mind upon a given desire until ways and means for its realization have been worked out and successfully put into operation. That means ability to keep our mind on one subject until we are thoroughly familiarized with it and master that subject.

There are two forms of Co-operation:

Co-operation between people who group themselves together or form alliances for the purpose of attaining a given end, under the principles known as the Law of the Masted Mind.
Co-operation between conscious and the subconscious minds, which forms a reasonable hypothesis of a man ability to contact, communicate with a draw upon infinite intelligence.
There are three motivating forces to which man respond:

The motive of Self-preservation
The motive of Sexual contact
The motive of Financial and Social Power
When it comes to a Failure, in this case that doesn’t mean that we are complete failures in life; but we need to look at failure as a “temporary defeat“. For as long as we don’t give up in reaching our definite aim in life, we are just temporary defeated.

Intolerance – there are two significant features about it:

Intolerance is a form of ignorance which must be mastered before any form of enduring success may be attained. It causes wars, and you gain much enemies in life.
Intolerance is the chief disintegrating force in the organized religions of the world, where it plays havoc with the greatest power into small sects and denominations which spend as much effort opposing each other as they do in destroying the evils of the world.
The Golden Rule:
“The Golden Rule means, substantially, to do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you if your position where reversed.”

Essential Bob Dylan
Essential Bob Dylan

Having read the description on the product page, I figured that this was going to be a uvc type camera. Upon receiving and plugging it in to my computer, it was indeed ready to be used without installing any other drivers. The other item in the description that made it interesting is that it claims to support h.264 output. It didn't fully explain what that meant, whether it was hardware encoding, or just allowed the computer to do the encoding. Of course, this was one of the features that I tested immediately. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did in fact do hardware h.264 encoding. While most computers these days have little issue doing the encoding on the fly, many older ones or SBCs would often have a hard time encoding without major lag. That is where the onboard hardware encoder comes in handy. It lets you make quality videos even on older or less powerful systems without sacrificing valuable system resources.

The other items that I wondered about was how well it would perform in linux. My primary system is the current version of Kubuntu Linux. After I plugged in, it was immediately recognized. My go-to video recording app in Kubuntu is guvcview. It loaded up with the default options. After testing the various settings, I found it to be a worthy camera. It had the options for H.264, MJPEG, and YUYV recording. With YUYV, it was only able to record at 5 fps at the full 1920x1080. Both MJPEG and H.264 allows up to 30 fps. In actual use, I persistently got around 25 fps instead of 30. It had a more difficult time opening in Cheese webcam software. It initially had an error about not being able to allocate enough memory. This was solved by adding a quirk to the config file for the uvcvideo driver. The quirk that it required was one that would restrict a frame rate, which allowed the camera to work properly in cheese. I also tested it with various video chat programs in both Linux an Windows and it worked pretty flawlessly with both systems.

On the hardware side of things, it has a decently long and very heavy duty cable. This is good because cables often either break due to strain, or are enjoyed by cats. Also in the hardware, it is equipped with a manual focus knob. This is nice because unlike some other cameras, this one isn't constantly trying to refocus. It makes it easier to keep one area in focus.

As far as use cases go, it is a fine camera for video chat and recording. Works with little to no effort after plugging in, and produces good video. But where it really shines is while hooked up to the raspberry pi that I use as a 3D print server. It is easy to mount on the top bar and look down upon the item being printed.

Final Thoughts: Worked well in both Linux and Windows 10 with little to no effort. Produced decent video at Full HD resolution and "just worked" right out of the box. Decent build quality. Definitely worth the price, especially since cameras with built in hardware h.264 are harder to find these days.
Truth...: Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and The Jeff Beck Group
Truth...: Rod Stewart, Ron Wood and The Jeff Beck Group
A very annoying book. As someone who was already an avid Beck fan when Truth came out, I was very interested to find out what there could be to know about the conceiving and executing of a tantalizing if frustrating album. Guess what? There's less than 10 pages in this highly padded book specifically about the album. What you get is a meandering essay about English bluesy rock filled with speculation, conjecture and misinformation.

Particulaly irksome are authorial intrusions presuming to follow the streams of consciousness of Beck and his cohorts. I get the feeling Thompson has scoured the internet for available Beck quotes and then, taking them at face value in whatever context, assembled them in some kind of time line, connecting them with color from back issues of Rolling Stone and English music weeklies of the time.

Believe me, even if you are very passionate about this music and and would like some insight into the process that created it, you are not likely to be satisfied by what Thompson presents. And by the way, something should be said about the scant and bizarre choice of photographs: a picture of the Yardbirds without Beck? a picture of Led Zep? no pictures of any of the managers and producers that Thompson writes so negatively about? No pictures of the actual group that recorded Truth? Shoddy thinking, and emblematic of this offering in general. Save your money, buy some vitamins or something.
Funko 35799 Movie Moments Marvel: Avengers Infinity Warthor Vs. Thanos, Multicolor
Funko 35799 Movie Moments Marvel: Avengers Infinity Warthor Vs. Thanos, Multicolor
So first off, this Funko is amazing. I love this movie moment and this pop captures it well. It is true, Thor is wearing black gloves - which is unrealistic. Overall though the funko is very cool. HOWEVER, I bought this as a Christmas present and what I am about to write is heartbreaking. When I opened the amazon package, the funko was opened, the box was shredded on one corner, and the clear plastic on the front is so scratched that it is hard to focus on the pop through the scratches. I’m attaching a photo so you can see the amount of sheer scratches on the box. In conclusion, the Funko is awesome, but with the destroyed packaging I am almost ashamed to present it as a present.
Rush
Rush
"Rush" is worth seeing, and that's different. Fact is, racing movies are rarely worth seeing. Soap opera plots, terrible race simulation, and an emphasis on catastrophe make most of them B-movie, bubble gum movies (some of which are funny and entertaining). The only exception before 2013 that this writer can recall was 1965's "Grand Prix," directed by John Frankenheimer. It did have a soap opera plot, but it focused with remarkable effectiveness on a plausible Formula I campaign featuring an aging star's challenge by two much younger and bolder drivers, with much detailed observation of how motor sport teams work. Made in the era before workstation graphics could simulate almost anything perfectly, the film featured extraordinary driving sequences, many of which were driven by the film's stars.

Ron Howard's "Rush" is a better film, not so much for the very effective simulation of actual racing conditions (though it is excellent at that, often far better than "Grand Prix" ever could have been), but for an impressive, well-written, and well-played depiction of the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda in the 1978 Formula I campaign. To effectuate the plot, Lauda is portrayed somewhat unfairly (Lauda, a three-time champion, was one of the greats, and is still active as a team manager). But that's fine; this is fiction based on history, not biography. As the fierce Lauda, Daniel Bruhl is marvelous, and manages to be an oddly sympathetic character despite a deadly competitiveness and technomaniac humorlessness that nearly get him killed at the 'Ring. His courtship of Marlene (Alexandra Maria Lara) is weirdly charming, their strong connection and loyalty a surprise in a sport as notorious as Hollywood is for casual infidelities.

Chris Hemsworth was so right as James Hunt, a driver as vividly in the public eye in his day as Stirling Moss was in his, that I wondered if Hemsworth might be related. Really the last of privately financed drivers (and of course Hunt didn't win his championship that way), he was a throwback to a pre-corporate sponsor era in Formula I racing, a sport considered as much romance as competition, and was fabulously deadly, killing one or two stars every year and injuring many more drivers horribly. It also often killed spectators, sometimes in large numbers.

The story, unlike most racing films, embraces the complications of team, friendship, courtship, and competition in a sport that has its roots in chariot racing in classical times. Howard manages to restrain the "announcer over" style that makes a mess of so many sports movies (they start to sound like NFL highlight films). "Rush" is not at all like that. I enjoyed all of the characters, and have seen the movie twice. The conflict between Lauda and Hunt, in the fabulous milieu of motor racing, which was real and widely reported in 1978, was a great choice, forcing the whole company to attach itself to real things instead of to the usual romantic fantasies about racing.

However, to be honest, "Rush" is a film about a variety of Formula I racing that has entirely vanished. For all this sport's reputation for deadliness, great former drivers like Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, and many others in the FIA, have over the past forty years recreated Formula I. They've done this by making its tracks safe (there used to be trees lining the roadways, and spectators sat unprotected along the edges as well), vastly improving car safety, and finally excluding the ever-dangerous amateurs who used to share in the competition. Despite those changes, the cars are far faster, and the crowds bigger by an order of magnitude. And yet, it has been twenty years since there has been a fatality in Formula I, a record far better than American football. I'm not knocking Howard for making a film about another era, but one shouldn't take his incisive and wonderfully made movie as a depiction of where motor sport is today. The romance of blood, the driver as matador, has faded thankfully into history. Today, millions of people enjoy seeing their heroes drive faster than ever and live to race again next season.

Asterix Comics (Graphic Novels) Box Set of 34 Titles
Asterix Comics (Graphic Novels) Box Set of 34 Titles
It was convenient, though expensive, to get all of these at once. However, I prefer used to these since I can smell the chemicals. I also note that the picture is a bit misleading. these are all of the books in a box that has a handle for buying/carrying but this is not the box in the picture, which suggests that the items can be slid out from the side. To open this box you have to open several flaps from above, take all the books out and see which one you want. So it's not a "boxed set" but all of the paper backs in a box that needs to be discarded if you want easy access. Had I known this I would have bought the items used one at a time and saved a little money.

Dragon Ball perfect edition - Tome 11 (Dragon Ball perfect edition (11)) (French Edition)
Dragon Ball perfect edition - Tome 11 (Dragon Ball perfect edition (11)) (French Edition)

Amazon Brand - AURIQUE Women's Side Stripe Capri Sports Leggings
Amazon Brand - AURIQUE Women's Side Stripe Capri Sports Leggings
I’m a fan of activewear capris, as they don’t make you as hot as pants/leggings will but they cover you up more than shorts would (no need to worry about everything riding up). I wanted to try these out, so I received a medium. I could have gone with a small, but I’m always a little weary of ordering smaller sizes from brands I’m not 100% familiar with. I’m 5’4 125lbs for reference, and I think a small would have fit me a little more to my liking. But they still fit and feel nicely.

They are made from a elastane material, so they are soft and have some stretch. They allow you to move in any way. I have completed a HIIT workout, leg day and even a yoga routine and these capris held up great. I didn’t have yo pull them up or adjust at any time during my workouts. The waistband is thick and has the ability to give you a slim waist look. For some reason, no matter how much I workout, I carry a little bit of fat right under my belly button, and this waist band keeps that flat without constricting me. Even with all the sweating, I found this pair of capris to keep me cool and not feel like I was soaking wet. So I really enjoy these.

They are fairly soft and the white stripe on the sides of the legs, and the logo are simple. So you could easily get away with wearing these as lounge wear if you choose to not workout. They’re be a great addition to your athlesure wardrobe.

Marriage of Inconvenience (The Manning Family Book 3)
I like Debbie Macomber books but I didn't like this one. It was filled with too much conflict and people who just didn't communicate and seemed to become explosively angry with each other. I would have enjoyed it more if the main couple would have been a cohesive unit against everybody else. Instead, there would be a conversation and then they would both become angry and never speak until the end when they suddenly starting talking. It was an interesting concept that I would have enjoyed if it had just gone a different direction between the main couple. It's probably just me; but, I didn't care for it.
SEAL's Vow (Iron Horse Legacy Book 4)
SEAL's Vow (Iron Horse Legacy Book 4)
When you read this book, you need to be aware that the lead couple of the story does get a resolution to their personal relationship, but there is a broader mystery won’t get resolved until the end of the 5th book in the series. ‘Iron Horse Legacy’ is a companion series to the ‘Brotherhood Protectors’ series, but you definitely don’t need to have read that series to enjoy this one.

Sebastian “Bastian” McKinnon is home on emergency family leave to help in the search for his father, James, who went missing under circumstances that would indicate foul play. Bastian ends up tasked with protecting Jenna, his little sister’s best friend. He has not been seriously interested in a woman since the death of his high school sweetheart in a car crash. He survived, but the drunk driver killed her, and Bastian vowed to never love again. Jenna survived a marriage to a violent ex-husband who very nearly killed her. She has promised herself to never trust a man again. As you can see, there are potential trigger issues in this story, but I thought the author handled them well. (My husband was killed by a drunk driver, so that is an issue about which I am particularly sensitive).

Along with the serious emotions there is a lot of action. There is also some steam with a lighthearted edge, and supportive involvement with the loving McKinnon family. Bastian and Jenna get the HEA they both deserve. And sadly, Bastian’s father is still missing.
Taira no Masakado
Taira no Masakado
Eiji Yoshikawa is one of my favorite authors - when properly translated. I've read several of his books that were well translated, and they draw you into the story line and characters while beautifully portraying a time and setting in historic Japan. Unfortunately, this version was badly translated. Very badly translated. Translating conversational language is a challenge, translating literature requires skills well beyond that. And this translator doesn't have those skills. Add faulty grammar and punctuation, and even the best author can be defeated.
Lilitu: The Memoirs of a Succubus
Lilitu: The Memoirs of a Succubus
The premise of the story was very intriguing when I saw this book available for pre-order. The setting allows for vast creativity into what world Fortin could have developed. Of course, we are limited to the direct interactions held by the MC, Maraina, but it was nice to imagine what other relationships and story lines could exist in this setting. Around 7 or 8 chapters in, my reading experience felt forced when I noticed that the MC's monologues just didn't seem..insightful, introspective, or captive of her own actions and though processes. I kept thinking, "this novel must be targeted towards teenagers," and perhaps being a 25 year old female puts me out of the scope in which I can relate to the MC..or perhaps the author's writing made me feel alienated from a character whom I think I'd normally be able to sympathize with. It definitely felt like a man writing about a young woman, rather than being an immersive narrative of a tragedy-torn girl on the cusp of womanhood. Overall, the novel was a good balance between action, romance, and horror and can still draw the reader to the end. The pace and character backstories were greatly entertaining. It's unfortunate how the MC's internal dialogue gave me so much pause.
Les Aventures d'Alice au Pays des Merveilles [ou Alice au Pays des Merveilles] (Illustré) (French Edition)
Les Aventures d'Alice au Pays des Merveilles [ou Alice au Pays des Merveilles] (Illustré) (French Edition)
Lewis Carroll's classic comes across well in the French edition. I have to confess I've started this story in English and lost interest several times. In the French version I was more patient with Dodgson's intentional confusion, and less distracted by thinking about possible allegorical implications. This is a fine book for strengthening your French reading skills, but it includes some odd vocabulary, tricky verb tenses, and intentional plays on words. Don't try this as your first foray into French after several years.

As Alice warns at the beginning, the story would be more fun with more pictures. But overall it's a classic madcap dream sequence.
James Bond: Nobody Lives Forever: A 007 Novel
James Bond: Nobody Lives Forever: A 007 Novel
The basic plot in Nobody Lives Forever, like Gardner's No Deals Mr Bond, probably gives a more realistic account of the spy world than we are used to in the Bond novels and films. Like License to Kill and From Russia With Love there is an "it could actually happen" feel to it and similarly to the latter, it sees Bond being thrown into a devious game by his enemies to bring about his death as justice for the damage he has inflicted on them, particularly SPECTRE. The idea of Bond having his holiday interrupted by those who hate him the most is fresh and exciting, and there are tense moments as he is hunted across Europe in a game of cat and mouse.

Once again there are allies of 007's who betray and ultimately nearly bring about his death. The turning of Quinn and Nannie were somewhat expected though, in fact Nannie's was inevitable. Where the novel is really let down is it's mid-section, when the two ladies Sukie and Nannie are dragged into Bond's situation as he is hunted down across the continent. In fact, the two of them were not even dragged into it, they appear happy to come along for the ride when Bond explains he needs to use them as hostages or leverage. While Nannie's involvement later turns out to be for different reasons, the idea of the two women being happy to accept this situation is nonsensical. The girls, as ever, are like putty in Bond's hands for the most part, but he does have to work a bit for Sukie's affections.

Generally this mid-part of the book just drags a bit, with the chase becoming slightly monotonous. It is not helped by some cringey dialogue either, like "Nannie knows best" (where did Gardner get the names Sukie and Nannie from??). More intriuging are 007's heavily-concealed gadgets and a nasty, corrupt copper in Salzburg.

Once again, Q (Major Boothroyd) is mentioned but never seen which is a dissapointment. Moneypenny on the other hand is taken hostage along with Bond's housekeeper May. In keeping with Bond's character, women are his weakness but what is so unbelievable is the lack of trauma inflicted on the two of them after being kidnapped by terrorists. They make escaping from their captors with Bond in a burning building seem like a walk in the park and a day or two later are sitting down happy having dinner as though they are just on another holiday.

I also felt the SPECTRE saga was wearing a bit thin by this time and it would have been better to have Bond up against other enemies. However, it keeps up the slightly humorous theme of 007 just always being that fly in their ointment, one man hellbent on bringing the evil organisation to its knees.

An easy-to-read spy thriller not without a few deficiencies.

The Six-Month Marriage: A Romance Novel
The Six-Month Marriage: A Romance Novel
I read this book a long time ago and thought it was wonderful. So I was excited to read again but I just couldn't stand the heroine. Something about her irked me. The hero wasn't much better. He almost attacked her she was 17 or 18 and they got married, she let one of his former girlfriends drive her away. And she almost let her do it again. At one point she was totally suicidal. The hero of course loved her since she was 16, yuk, and they got married and were separated after six months. then They divorced. They never consummated the marriage and she of course had a dweeb boyfriend and she was still a virgin. She dated but no one attracted her like that. His celibacy is unclear. We know that the ex was lying about them being lovers but you don't knowing there was anyone else. I think he said something about an ex-girlfriend who was his housekeeper staying over sometimes but not sure. It was never mentioned again. Just a lot of miscommunication and angst.
Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini
Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini

Harry Potter Womens' Robe
Harry Potter Womens' Robe
Definitely deserves all 5 stars, it’s super soft and comfy. Slightly bigger than I expected but I like to wear a lot of layers so that worked to my advantage. As a whole, this is really worth the price, moreover, will really submerge you farther into the experience for any Potter fan.

I where a size XL in Old Navy zip ups and ordered an XL here. Fits very well, slightly large in the arms but in a good way.
Sword of Vengeance [Blu-ray]
Sword of Vengeance [Blu-ray]
The story of a Norman prince, freed from slavery, who seeks revenge on his father's murderer. Gaining the trust of a band of exiled farmers, he leads them into battle against Durant, his father's killer. exploiting them in his quest to satisfy his code of honor. First, there is very little dialog and it works to this movies advantage. I was a bit bored at the start because it took a bit to get to it but once things began to happen, i liked it more. It is your standard movie of seek and vengeance. The actors are okay because they just need to do what they do. As i said, the action is good and the story is standard and the acting is sufficient. Stanley Weber is the star and i wondered if he had ever done anything else.

AIZ Mobile Standing Desk, Adjustable Computer Desk Rolling Laptop Desk Cart on Wheels Home Office Computer Workstation, Portable Laptop Stand Tall Table for Standing or Sitting, Black
AIZ Mobile Standing Desk, Adjustable Computer Desk Rolling Laptop Desk Cart on Wheels Home Office Computer Workstation, Portable Laptop Stand Tall Table for Standing or Sitting, Black
Intro:
We bought this for a relatively small area but for a sizable desktop computer.

Size:
The computer tower measures 18" deep x 8" wide x 19" tall and it fits with room to spare on the lower shelf - front of tower facing towards the R side of the desk. I put the power strip behind the tower and it fits comfortably. The monitor is 25" and fits, again with room to spare, on the top rear shelf. Gaming keyboard and gaming mouse fit great on the front shelving. Additionally, an external optical drive, a SSD external storage, wifi amplifier, DSLR camera, and notebooks all fit on the top shelf with the monitor so there is plenty of room for our purposes.

Ease of use:
The adjustable heights is perfect to allow for transition from sitting to standing. The wheels make it easy to move around as necessary and each wheel has a brake to lock it in from rolling. Like the adjustable tilt for the keyboard and mouse - they can be adjusted separately. We were a bit concerned about it tipping a little too readily before it arrived, once it was assembled it was clear the shelf only tips and holds as you willingly adjust it.

Assembly:
Fool-proof! Took maybe 25-30 minutes to assemble with a helper. It was very easy and straightforward. It came with the screwdriver and wrench needed to assemble although I ended up mainly using my own wrench because it is thicker. There were two spare screws which was perfect because one of the screws was stripped when we got it.

Other notes:
Easy to clean material. The bottom shelf was the last thing we attached, it was slightly off - meaning the whole thing was not fully square until we attached the bottom shelf. No big deal. If you have ever changed a tire you know to go in a star pattern, same logic here. Get each corner started, then tighten diagonally, and then tighten all corners. It pulled it nice and square and have not had any issues; the desk has been in the studio for about a week now. Will update if anything changes.
There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane
There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane
I am a mother who works full-time. I don't know how Diane was able to accomplish childcare, household chores, doctor appointments, events at work and planning events for others. You would have to be on stimulants not weed to try to accomplish that. I'm not saying that she was an alcoholic but people who don't know much about alcohol/drug addiction would not know the signs to watch for such as hidden bottles of alcohol moved around to different hiding spots. I'm just wondering how could she have been the life and soul of the party all the time and supermom without taking anything? I understand why she was such a perfectionist and had to be in control because of her childhood. But at the same time, it's always the ones who say they don't have problems and/or don't discuss their problems that are the ones who need serious therapy. She had unresolved issues of childhood abandonment, hadn't spoken to her sisters in 10 years or her brothers? She never spoke about her marriage, not even to her best friend, that's not even normal. If she did smoke pot to sleep, how did she even get up for work? Did she sleep 2-3 hours a night? Someone mentioned an aneurysm. If there had been one or a stroke or any other medical condition, it would have shown up on the autopsy and no medical diseases showed up, so stop trying to rule out things that were ruled out and did not exist. Just like the retesting of the blood-same results. I do feel the family got ripped off by that scum-bag private investigator from the deceased' retirement fund money. He never even told the family that the blood had been retested 9 months prior nor did he give them to the family until they had to make numerous follow up phone calls to obtain them and they had paid something like 30k to him?
twenty something: the things you wish someone told you about your twenties, from one gal to another
twenty something: the things you wish someone told you about your twenties, from one gal to another
This book is nostalgic and sweet, challenging and encouraging, funny and fierce. Twenty-something shares all the hilarities of a decade and then knocks the reader out of their chair with whomping doses of impactful wisdom.

I found myself lost in the memories of my own twenty-something years, saying “yes and amen” to so many things. Things I want my daughter to know and believe and learn and experience in her twenty-something years. She’s only 2, but I know what she’s getting for her 20th birthday!

And then there were timeless truths that I found my soul needing to hear. Right now. Every day. Things about forgiveness and waiting and discipline and celebration. With every word, Cimber shows that “life is beautiful and fascinating and complex if we are willing to take a closer look.”
Wearing as an undershirt for scrubs and its absolutely perfect since im cold natured but need sleeves out of the way for hand washing, patient care and procedures. Very comfortable. I am between a womens small and a medium for shirt size depending on style and use- though have been gravitating to more mediums lately. I initially bought a medium (rather it be big than too small and have to return) and found it to run a little large in the body. But not large enough to warrant a return. And being in between a small and medium, it might not be entirely fair to say a medium runs large but well Im sticking to it. And it did shrink a little with drying but disclaimer, i dried on medium heat forgetting it was in the load so I did not check the laundering instructions. I actually bought a small in this shirt as well to compare, since Im between sizes. Ironically that felt more true to size in the body and initially fit better. But I like the longer length of the medium for the purpose of wearing under scrubs. I am not disappointed in either size of the shirt and wear them both. They have both gotten a lot of use and held up well with washing. And its cute enough to wear on its own.

Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G VR II DX AF-S ED Zoom-Nikkor Lens (Renewed)
I really like this lens. I Dk a lot of man on the street shooting with it. I can get up close and personal without being seen. I bold my camera in my hand and pretend that i'm changing the settings when I am really taking pictures of people in order to capture that candid shot. Or if I am taking pictures of a building or something at some distance away from me like the other day I saw a few different pairs of shoes hanging from powerlines and I captured a great little series of photographs of the different types of shoes while walking along the sidewalk and photographing the shoes from the opposite side of the street. They came out so wonderfully.
After War Gundam X: Collection 1
After War Gundam X: Collection 1
I found the setting of this show to be something quite different from most of the Gundam series in an appealing way. It is post-apocalyptic and the world populous has mostly been wiped out through war. For Gundam fans, this is quite interesting because the series really seems to act as a 'what-if' scenario - what if more Colony Drop Operations had been conducted, what would have happened. Some characters are pretty clearly based on alternate future versions of main UC characters.

I found most of the characters likable and the way they start becoming a pseudo family in a post-apocalyptic world. The animation style is similar to Gundam Wing with a dash of G Gundam thrown in in some comedic moments (very sparsely though). The mecha designs are very 90s feeling, yet they feel a little more UC military than the Mobile Suits in a show like Gundam Wing.

There were a few issues with this release:

Firstly, the transfer is not the best. Several of the early episodes look...foggy, for lack of a better word. The saturation and contrast is pretty lacking, definitely could be better. I only found this to be an issue in some of the early episodes. I heard this was not an issue with the Japanese release, but I have not seen it. Also, (and this is a problem with the anime itself) the music is pretty lackluster - its pretty incredible what they chose to go with for certain moments. Once again, this became less of an issue as you get to the end of the set. By the time I got to episode 14 or 15 I noticed the music had changed and was actually getting pretty good - there were some very nice haunting melodies.

There are no real special features to speak of for this set - there are textless Openings and Closings and...thats it. This is also a Japanese only set (english subtitles available) as this show was never dubbed into english. Pretty bare bones, but understandable given the circumstances.

As much as I have liked the story/characters, this set is mostly the setup and the story only starts getting good near the end of this set. Much of this set did feel like it would appeal more as an after-school type of show, but older fans of Gundam can enjoy it too.

I would recommend any fan of the series to check it out as it does present something different from the typical Gundam experience.
Gardner's Art through the Ages: The Western Perspective, Volume I
Gardner's Art through the Ages: The Western Perspective, Volume I
I needed this textbook for class and as I got near the back of the book, I noticed that after page 428, the book jumps straight to 445- 460, then 429-444, and finally 461-end. I bought this book new and I’m extremely disappointed because it was a bit costly. I feel like this shouldn’t have been an issue for the price I paid. There are also ink stains from when it was printed on random pages that I know I didn’t cause. I’m still going to use the book, it appears to be complete and I couldn’t find any other sections out of order (as of yet). I would have refunded the order but I already started to write in it so I guess it’ll just have to work. Overall I’m rating this product a three because other than the issues noted, it came in decent condition and in a timely manner.
ADEPTNA MEMORY FOAM LEG PILLOW ORTHOPAEDIC FIRM BACK HIPS & KNEE SUPPORT WITH COVER
ADEPTNA MEMORY FOAM LEG PILLOW ORTHOPAEDIC FIRM BACK HIPS & KNEE SUPPORT WITH COVER
I have had back issues (slipped disc) in the past and had been sleeping with a regular thin pillow between my knees but it would never stay in place and covered too much of me making me too warm in bed. This stays in place and is small enough that it only covers the part of your legs that it is holding apart. It's very comfortable and does a much more effective job than a regular pillow. My wife is pregnant and is having hip discomfort, tried a specifically shaped maternity pillow and didn't get on with it; I bought her one of these as well and she really likes it and the hip discomfort has stopped. I would definitely recommend this product if you are having any sort of lower back or hip problems. I've not yet tried cleaning it as I've not used it for very long, but the cover can be removed. One word of caution: you might find discomfort increases for a night or two - it did in both mine and my wife's case - but that's just your body getting used to the position; after that it was a huge improvement for both of us.
Ferghana Computer Chair,Gaming Chair Massage,PC Gaming Chair for Adults Teens,Video Gaming Chair with Headrest Massage Lumbar Support (Dark Green)
Ferghana Computer Chair,Gaming Chair Massage,PC Gaming Chair for Adults Teens,Video Gaming Chair with Headrest Massage Lumbar Support (Dark Green)
This chair is pretty decent for gaming/computer use. The construction was fairly simple though without another person around to help the last couple of steps will be very difficult for most. There are two seat adjustments, one for height and one for back angle - I love that this includes a back angle adjustment! That really helps with comfort and utility (gaming or sitting back to watch a screen). The seat itself is very long, making the adjustable lumbar and back pads that it comes with essential just to sit normally.
It does come with two features you don't typically find with most chairs - a massage option and a fold-out footrest. I am not interested in the massage option so I can't speak to that; the footrest is a neat idea but it doesn't pull out very far so unless you are shorter it is really more of a lower-leg rest.
Overall this is a decent chair for the price. The ergonomics are a little weird since it seems designed for taller people (because it has a very long seat) but then the footrest attachment doesn't pull out far... so the basic ratios could use some reconfiguring. But overall this is a comfortable, easily adjustable, sturdy chair and I'm happy with it.
Amy's Soups, Organic Indian Golden Lentil Soup, 14.4 Ounce
Amy's Soups, Organic Indian Golden Lentil Soup, 14.4 Ounce
I like Amy's Soups, in general, and buy them at the grocery - or lately on Amazon Fresh and this last time on Amazon Pantry. Big mistake on the Amazon Pantry order. I ordered four (4) cans of Amy's Soups (different varieties), but this blew up in transit. I don't know if it just happens because it's lentils (still not quite sure), but because this is a snap top - the top, unsnapped entirely - and basically not just oozed most of its contents, but it looked like it blew up in the box. It pretty much sprayed everything that was in the box, including all the bubble wrap. It was gross. I'll ask Amazon to refund the can of soup, but really - a lot of what was in the box was soggy and dripping with lentil soup. Even the Starbucks Double Shot Espresso Coffee Drinks were splattered. We had to rinse everything. I will not be buying anything with pop-up cans through Amazon Pantry again.

The licorice is delicious! My review is for the pictorial misrepresentation of what customers are lead to believe we are purchasing. It is true that it is written the licorice is 250 g at the top but the picture is a 2.5 kg bag. Nosh London please change the picture to the correct amount so others who love this product are not duped into receiving about 35 pieces of licorice for a whopping $9.00 like I was. Shame on you!!!

Yogi Tea Infusión de Hierbas Echinacea, 1 Pack de 17 bolsitas
