TypeScript Design Patterns
TypeScript Design Patterns
"Thanks to the efforts of the TypeScript community, almost every popular JavaScript library got its declaration files on a project called DefinitelyTyped. And there has already been a tool called tsd for declaration file management. But soon, people realized the limitation of a single huge repository for everything, as well as the issues tsd cannot solve nicely."

"Compile and run; buy me a cup of coffee it it works. But it probably won't."

This is just a fraction of the nonsensical English that takes place in chapter one. Clearly English is the author's second language, and the mere fact that he can write a book in a language other than his primary language is really quite astonishing. HOWEVER, I don't like to read broken English and what is clear from page 1 is that this book has not been edited by someone whose first language is English. I would expect that from a book that is nearly $30. I really would have liked to have read the subsequent chapters illustrating GoF design patterns implemented with TypeScript. I just couldn't make it out of chapter 1.
Go Down, Moses (Vintage International)
Go Down, Moses (Vintage International)
This is the 6th or 7th William Faulkner book I've read over the years and they are consistent in a couple of ways: they are about the Old South, and they are worth the read if you can hang in. At his best, Faulkner is like poetry, but often also like a puzzle with one or two pieces missing. His stories usually start in the middle and then jump around time-wise; you are not always sure of whom he is talking about. Also, his existential view is a bit depressing: this is all there is, and there might be a god, but one who is really of no particular use. His sentences are run-on, poorly punctuated, convoluted, and sometimes a page or two long. BUT, if you can wade through all that, the stories are haunting or humorous but never boring. `Go Down Moses' generally gives personal highlights (or lowlights) of the 200-year history of a family that had both black and white branches descended from the same man. Faulkner has unusually keen insight into the racial tension that has plagued our country from even before the beginning, and it shows in his writings.

Faulkner is after all a Pulitzer Prize winner (twice) and even a Nobel Prize winner, and well worth the read - - if you can hang in. At least that is my take on it.

Henry Ford's Boys: The Story of the Wayside Inn Boys School
Henry Ford's Boys: The Story of the Wayside Inn Boys School
My Father went to WIBS and graduated in '39 we believe; and like most of the boys was a ward of the Comm. of MA. He LOVED the School and all our "uncles" were WIBS students. He went to each and every reunion that they had annually. I only wish he had shared MORE of the details of his life with (me)(us). I feel that I don't know most of his life. He NEVER complained, he was ALWAYS grateful to Henry Ford and the WIBS school. He was a HARD WORKER, EXTREMELY ETHICAL, and brought his 4 children up the same way. He stayed married to our Mother until they both died 19 years ago. He was a great PROVIDER AND PROTECTOR of his family. One of his sayings was, I knew if I JUST HAD A FAMILY, I would Have EVERYTHING. He was a Mechanic and had an entrepreneural spirit and had his own successful auto repair business for many years. He was diligent with his earnings and spending. All his qualities are spoken about being taught at the WIBS. I do agree with some of the alulmni that there SHOULD be MANY more schools like this for the Children that are wards of the State(s)and others who have lost their way. They seem to be far better than SEVERAL FOSTER HOMEs in ones life time; some of which are NOT GOOD. I would love to hear from any of you out there with dads/grand-dads who went to WIBS. Are some of you who are still alive having annual reunions still?
Trump: The Way to the Top: The Best Business Advice I Ever Received
Trump: The Way to the Top: The Best Business Advice I Ever Received
There is a lot of advice from many people. It is okay but only advice.Even my grandma can give me advice.
For intance one particular person states in this book that he was made to clean something and got rewarded by his own father with little money as to prove him that there wasn't much value in something that anyone can do.Well this advice is rubbish simply because if you do something eveyone can do you still put your price, what he's cleaning could have been dangerous because of dangerous gases, dust etc so this advice is just stupid. Anyone can do it?Don't think so.
Many other advices, however, do prove to be useful, after thinking twice about them.
Other advices are just obvious when you are in business.
Aretha's Best
Aretha's Best
Any artist who recorded as many great songs as Aretha has done cannot be perfectly represented by a one disk greatest hits collection. Having said this, this particular collection gathers many of her greatest singles together, from her second and third record labels. That means you get Respect and, if you want it, I knew You Were Waiting For Me. This is the only Aretha collection still in print that has her hits from the 60's through the 80's. It's a solid collection of hits; if you buy it for that reason, you'll be satisfied.
Bob Dylan - Triplicate [LP] (Vinyl/LP)
Bob Dylan - Triplicate [LP] (Vinyl/LP)
I grew up with Dylan, and throughout his career have bought most of his albums as soon as they were released. Back in the 1960s, I would have been shocked at Dylan recording a triple album of popular crooning numbers: singers like Sinatra were definitely of my parents' generation. Time has mellowed me and I have long recognised that standards are as important part of America's musical legacy as jazz, blues, country and gospel. I love the way Dylan has taken these songs and, using that unique voice of his, made them his own. Love the instrumentation as well. Although more famous for his own compositions, Dylan is a brilliant interpreter of other people's songs, as he demonstrated on his first album back in 1962 as well as on some of the tracks on "Self Portrait" and on his two acoustic collections of traditional numbers in the 1990s. Still after this and its two predecessors I think we're ready for an album of new material.
5pcs Sprmal Bamboo Toothbrushes Natural Organic Biodegradable and Vegan Bamboo Soft BPA Free Nylon Bristles for Sensitive Gums
5pcs Sprmal Bamboo Toothbrushes Natural Organic Biodegradable and Vegan Bamboo Soft BPA Free Nylon Bristles for Sensitive Gums
Overall I like these toothbrushes, the bristles are soft and I appreciate that they aren't made with plastic handles (the reason I purchased them). But one of the toothbrushes in the pack was unusable because the bristles kept falling out. It's very irritating to the have to fish little bristles out of your teeth and mouth. While I love bamboo toothbrushes, I'll probably purchase another brand in the future.
Captain America Men's Compression Shirt 3D Print T-Shirt
Captain America Men's Compression Shirt 3D Print T-Shirt
This was not a compression shirt at all, more along the lines of a snug but not hugging. I have long used another brand of compression, moisture wicking, breathable, long sleeve fitness wear for almost a decade and I was not expecting the same with this but even as a its own brand, I was disappointed. This is a fashion outfit more than a workout gear type of clothing. It does not breathe and it does not wick away moisturize and because it is snug but not compression, it will snag and chafe if you workout for over an hour. Most people won't run into this problem but if you're a runner that goes over 10km, cyclist going at temps below 50F using this as a base later or at a cold gym trying to do cardio or weights without having to constantly tug at the loose sleeves bunching at your elbows or shoulders or wrists- this is NOT the clothing for you. I am going to have to keep on looking for another suitable replacement for my fitness needs as this clearly isn't designed with the athlete in mind.

If you're more of a person that wants to have a good time with friends, be the center of attention, go to a party or get together and stand out, go to the gym and look cute and take selfies, this is perfect for that. Its well enough made for casual wear. Colors are solid compared to other manufacturers that make these superhero shirt that start of super brilliant but fade.

Black Panther "Shuri" Temporary Tattoos (3-Pack) | Skin Safe | MADE IN THE USA| Removable
Product was purchased as an add on for my daughter's costume. The product arrived on time and worked as expected. The only issue was that the it irritated my daughter's skin slightly during removal. The product was easy to apply. It was a tad bit difficult to remove, and caused a slight irritation to my daughter's skin. Package comes with 2 sets. I recommend trying product on a small protion of your skin prior to the day you need to wear it.
Cybersix
Cybersix
Here's a nice gem I found via YouTube tonight, then later watched on Amazon Prime.

Cybersix - a late 90's Canadian-Japanese anime series based on an Argentinian comic. Quite a mouthful, right?

So, what's this Cybersix, you may ask?

Warning: Words Words Words

Think an anime-inspired Batman the Animated Series meets Jackie Chan Adventures, and a dash of Cowboy Beebop - based in a fictional Argentinian city for it's "Gotham." Yeah, that's a interesting mashup!

This is the Synopsis from Amazon: Von Reichter is a professor who created a series of artificial humanoids with super strength. One of the them, Cybersix, escapes and arrives in the city of Meridiana while disguising herself as school teacher Adrian. While saving the city from Reichter's creations, Cybersix defeats monsters called "Fixed Ideas"and drinks "sustenance", in order to survive.

Parts of the story are a bit on the nose - but there's mystery, action, quirky romance, and some character development. There's also moments of over the top villainy of Team Rocket proportions. Cybersix's backstory could have been expanded upon more during the run, but I think most of that would have been fleshed out in time if Season 2 came along.

The animation and art direction is overall pretty good. It has a solid Saturday Morning cartoon vibe to it, but with a slightly older demographic in mind. It's done very well and holds your attention, at least it did for me.

Hey! It was in the 90's - so give it some slack. :)

Sadly, it only lasted 1 season in the US and was partially (9 episodes) on Fox Kids, being toned down quite a bit from it's comic book roots, which tackled a more mature themes and story elements.

Overall though, it's a good 13 episode run, though I would have loved a second season.

If any of this peaks your interest - it's on Amazon prime and on DVD, though you can sample episodes 1-3 through TMS Entertainment's Youtube channel.

I definately wished I caught this back in the day and had went into more seasons, but very glad I came across it. :) At some point, I will get the DVD. Hope this helps someone wanting to learn more about this cool series.
Dictionary in French (Beginner Books)
Dictionary in French (Beginner Books)
This is a great way to introduce young children to French. When some children I babysit for were planning a trip to France with their parents..........I gave them this book beforehand to read in their "free time". When they were in France, they could say more than "oooo la la" !!! They were comfortable with "Hello" and "Good bye", "Please" and "Thank you" plus a few more names of foods and objects. It made their trip that much more interesting, educational and FUN !!!!! And perhaps it will help them continue to develop their appreciation not only of France and Francais...........but maybe to the interest in other countries too. I was happy to pay such a good price for the book, and the vendor sent me what seems to be a brand new copy. It arrived very quickly and in perfect condition !!!!!! Thank You............oo-oops! I mean Merci !!!!!
Dean Koontz's Mr. Murder / Dean Koontz's Servants of twilight
Dean Koontz's Mr. Murder / Dean Koontz's Servants of twilight
I enjoyed this despite myself. The film is overly long but I did stay the course. Mr Baldwin worked hard on the two parts, reasonably convincingly, though it nearly reached comic proportions in a couple of scenes when he was constantly switching between the good and bad guy to confuse the action and no doubt the audience too. In terms of a Dean Koontz book-to-film I felt it represented the writers intentions reasonably well. Worth a look, but don't expect it to be a concise adaption.
Onze minutos (Portuguese Edition)
Onze minutos (Portuguese Edition)
In all honesty, when I first started reading this book I was going to give it 5 stars. The way in which Paulo Coelho is able to create this fable-like way of storytelling that makes you content with each page but also eager to read more. At first, I kept having to remind myself this was a man writing in a woman's voice because the ideals and thought processes were so gender neutral that it allowed you to easily agree and relate to the main character. Quite a few reviewers mention the fact that Maria as a character was too distant and that in real life she would've been more emotional but I liked this feature because it created this space that allowed the reader to focus on each stage of her situation and where she wanted to be (emotionally and literally). Unfortunately, midway through the book I was disappointed in how there was a random mention of BDSM and then this cliché love storybook ending. I do agree with a few reviews on how mentioning BDSM doesn't make your book current or add a certain variety. I do feel it you do decide to mention different lifestyles and tastes you do have to do it justice and not make it sound like 50 shades. Other than that, it was refreshing to read a commentary on Brazilian/Portuguese culture but more society's a critique on society's way of categorizing sex and the mentality that surrounds it. I did enjoy reading this book and I'm happy to know a book like this exists (even if it is a bit cliché).
Veronika Decides to Die
Veronika Decides to Die
Veronika Deklava (Sarah Michelle Gellar) appears to have it all. She’s successful and attractive — with a high-paying corporate job, a gorgeous New York apartment, and loads of dating prospects. To those who seek success for the sake of having it, they’d see Veronika as someone who wants for nothing. So why does she want to die? Why does she swallow a pill cocktail and then sends an alarming email? She wakes up at Villette, an elite mental health facility, where she receives horrible news: her pill cocktail has caused irreversible damaged to her heart. How irreversible? She will die soon, out of nowhere, and no one can do anything about it. Alarmed, Veronika does things in her own terms. She still wants to end her life, but that’s before she meets a gorgeous and mysterious patient (Jonathan Tucker) and connects with her doctor (David Thewlis) and a fellow patient (Erika Christensen). She has the ultimate epiphany: she wants to live. That’s not an option though. If she must die, then she wants to live every single moment as though it were her last, but she can’t do that while locked up in Villette, can she?

I had my pick of Ammy videos to praise. This seems like an odd choice given the current pandemic, but if you’re familiar with Paulo Coelho, you’d know that his books are a rare mixture of literary, heartwarming, philosophical and ultimately encouraging. This adaptation of the popular novel isn’t as great as the book, but it’s still quite good — the perfect pick-me-up for the current climate. Sarah Michelle Gellar is wonderful as Veronika. Even though she isn’t as young as the book character, it takes a seasoned actress to express the amount of pathos it takes to portray such a complex character. (And yes, she looks young enough to play a twenty-four-year-old.) Her journey to self-discovery is enlightening and heartbreaking at the same time. The story also tackles the primary theme of the book — how material success does not equate to happiness. Dreams and success are great things to have, but only if they coincide with your values. If you do it because you feel you ought to, or to fulfill some external desire (your parents’ expectations, society’s demands, etc), or to compete with and be better than others, then it won’t fulfill you. Just make sure that whatever you do in life brings you pleasure and joy. I enjoyed this film, and the last scenes are touching and beautiful. Downsides? It’s rushed in some areas. The book isn’t long. Most of Coelho’s books are 55K words long or less, but the film rushes on the parts that matter most. For instance, I would’ve liked more Veronika scenes prior to Villette. Instead, we get a five-minute intro into her inner psyche as she goes about her empty life. Other than that, I cannot recommend VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE enough. Four out of five caramelized cinnamon cold brew iced coffees!

Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Enigma (Jason Bourne series) by Eric Van Lustbader (2016-06-21)
Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Enigma (Jason Bourne series) by Eric Van Lustbader (2016-06-21)
This is one of 3 recent purchases to complete my set of these books. All, including this one, have been a good read and better than the films which seem to be dedicated to spectacular car chases and a total disregard to the original written work. If anything, the stories have digressed from the first 3 books in order to extend the life of the main character but quite forgivable as the books still keep the reader riveted up to the very end.
I doubt that I should have followed the story as well if I had not read the entire series from the beginning so I cannot imagine how a reader would react to reading this as a stand alone book.
The Substance of All Things: a novel
The Substance of All Things: a novel
I really enjoyed this book! It came recommended to me and I was not disappointed!!!

The book takes place in two timelines: the Now, the the Then, with the main character acting as narrator for both. When I first cracked the pages and began the tale, I will admit I was trepidatious, because one of the characters in the Now was physically a large woman and my knee-jerk reaction was to get ready to be angry, because we are so often written in the same tropey ways, with the same maladies and inflictions and we are always, always given the same "instructions" for our own good, in about 95% of all books I've read with characters of size, especially women.
But my readiness to anger was disappointed because she was written beautifully. And the central character's reactions to her were written truthfully and without trope and that alone made me cry, because a woman of size was written with such love and respect it broke my heart. She has issues, some of which are typically thought of about women of size, but that is because they are typical of women of size, and they didn't distract from the beauty of this character. Well done, truly.

The story of the Then in this tale is very unique, but also one that I think everyone can relate to in their own specificity. The narrator's tale is heartbreaking and empowering and so many things in between, but it's a tale we can all find our way into with ease, as relating to these people is as relating to our own family from the perspective of our youth.

It's a story about finding faith in ourselves, how easy it is to hurt someone with love, to love someone you don't like, of discovering who you are at the core then finding a way to lead with that always. It's about family and friendship and all the ways those things get messy, and how hard they are to clean up, and so much more.

I fell in love with the people on these pages, I love that my friend was brave enough to leave certain things unsaid, and powerful enough to write these people and put so much of himself on these pages and godammit Sam Harris you made me cry! This book broke my heart in all the good ways.
Deadly Liaisons (Devil's Shroud Book 3)
Deadly Liaisons (Devil's Shroud Book 3)
Rating 3.5 __Contains graphic sexual content.
Stand alone read. 3rd in the Devil’s Shroud series.

EASY READ. Nicely written, suspenseful storyline, likable characters, good secondary cast, menacing bad guy(s), good clues, a hot lust-a-thon, and a dramatic and sweet ending. HOWEVER, the villain is obvious early on, the romance is incredibly rushed (just 2 days), and in the beginning the heroine is plain annoying. She hears a voice in the fog repeatedly calling for help – she decides she must be hearing things. She feels someone push her down the stair – she recants saying the fall “scrambled her brains.” This behavior detracts from the storyline.

THE STORY revolves around B&B owner Molly McGregor, and Stealth Operations Specialist Casanova Valdez. As the story unfolds, Molly is holding a ghost hunters weekend at her cliff side B&B. She meets Nova when he and his friends stop by for dinner and his interest in her is obvious. As Nova and his partner drive down the steep winding road back to town, the brakes fail and they jump to safety just as the car goes over the cliff. They walk back to McGregor’s B&B where Nova hooks up with Molly for the night. When something awakens her after midnight, she investigates and a ghostly shove send her tumbling down the stairs injuring her ankle. Nova quickly steps in to help Molly run the B&B, suspecting that someone from one of his previous undercover operations is trying to get to him through Molly. While protecting her from a series of life-threatening mishaps, he races against time to figure out which one of the guests wants to destroy him and why (bpl).

OVERALL, nothing special. There are some suspenseful moments, but it is easy to figure out what is going on early in the story. The DEVIL’S SHROUD series includes Deadly Reckoning, Deadly Engagement, Deadly Liaisons, Deadly Allure, and Deadly Obsession.

You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, and E. Palfrey. For good mystery/detective writers you might try J. D. Robb, D. Stabenow, S. Grafton, Gayle Wilson and Julie Miller.
Bleach 55 (Spanish Edition)
Bleach 55 (Spanish Edition)
Super shōnen manga, je le conseille aux amateurs du genre;

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure / Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken Vol.8 - Vol.17 Set [JAPANESE EDITION]
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure / Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken Vol.8 - Vol.17 Set [JAPANESE EDITION]
i decided to review this box set since there is no English reviews so here you go
P.S this review is on the box set and if it is worth it NOT the series its self

This manga box set is jojo's bizarre adventure part 3 stardust crusaders.

This box set is the Japanese version of the bunko re releases of the original manga volumes so if you can't read Japanese or are not learning Japanese then don't buy it unless you want a nice display piece.

The box includes Volumes 8-17 of the bunko voumes, a card of Jotaro and really awful handle to 'carry' the box around.

So overall it is nice and worth it if you are a fan but not if you are not a fan of the series but the €100 price tag is a bit too much for what you get and the shipping and handling was like €30 extra for me , i would recommend under €100, i would give a 5 star but the awful handle and the price reduced this

I hope this helped people choose if they want to buy this since there is no English reviews( Sorry for no pictures)
Terminal
Terminal
If you throw credibility to the wind and just enjoy the dark plot of this Robin Cook thriller, you may find TERMINAL an enjoyable little thriller. A high profile medical clinic is gaining attention as it has seemingly found a cure for brain cancer. Enter Doug Savant (Melrose Place) as a young medical student who comes to the clinic on a four month externship. He meets up with former girlfriend (the lovely Nia Peeples), and together they start wondering what is going on. Of course, in any Cook book, you know there's something devious going on. Seems like the cure works for elderly or middle aged rich men, and when a young nurse is killed, the plot thickens. Savant is a Keanu Reeves clone, making his wooden delivery work as part of the character, and Peeples provides a sharp, energetic contrast. Add Jenny O'Hara as the worst nurse since Ms. Ratched; Michael Ironside as the villainous pharmaceutical henchman; Gregg Henry as Savant's not so innocent brother; and Roy Thinnes as a concerned parent, and you have the ingredients for an above average made for t.v. thriller.
Rubie's Deluxe Harry Potter Child's Costume Robe with Gryffindor Emblem, Large, Black
Rubie's Deluxe Harry Potter Child's Costume Robe with Gryffindor Emblem, Large, Black
Patch looks good and is sewn on, not a sticker. Material is fleece and seems durable, although lint and hair is sticking. As reviewers mentioned, it IS NOT fully lined with burgundy, but has thin strips the sides. I will be tacking the strips down, because they want to fold out and look awkward. I'm sure I can improve it. The clip for closure is garbage, not attached, difficult to open and no doubt won't last the school day. I'm considering buying 2 solid buttons and elastic to DIY a more secure, permanent and functioning one. **Update I purchased a frog closure (google it) sewed it on and it looks great, better yet it looks authentic from movie. Based on REVIEWS, I bought the child size large for a 5 foot, 120 pound upper body heavy tween. It fits but I would have preferred an XL for more "bagginess" through the tummy and shoulders and room to grow, unfortunately no time to return, and it will do. Length is just between mid calf and ankle on her, hopefully allowing her to wear it to school all day without getting tripped up. My thinner proportioned 18 year old, 5'3" & 140 pounds, the Child Large fits perfectly in the shoulders and stomach, just a bit short hitting mid calf area in length. Low rating because the price is in my opinion high for the product quality. With a little ingenuity it can be improved to be a permanent reusable addition to our costume/Halloween box.
Wizarding World Harry Potter Buckbeak 13 Large Plush Doll NEW by Universal Studios
Wizarding World Harry Potter Buckbeak 13 Large Plush Doll NEW by Universal Studios
I was hesitant to pay so much for "a stuffed animal." However, "Buckbeak" was an instant hit. My daughter peered into his eyes and decidedly named him Hagrid. True to his namesake, he appears fierce but he is soft and sturdy. It's put together well. His body is solid, his legs a bit less (giving them some ability for movement, but still strong enough to support his standing on his own.) His wings are sewn on in a way that the bottom half moves freely for "flapping", yet won't get pulled off by too much tugging. There are 3-4 different kinds of fabrics used in the making of this noble creature, giving him lots of texture and detail. In spite of all these things, when I've picked him up, I can't stop petting him, even as a "first generation" Potter fan! He is so very, very soft, from the tufts of fur on his head\tail to the short fur on his chest and wings. He is holding up very well to the love and affection he's been receiving. A lot of money? Yes. But if Harry Potter is part of your world, (or someone else's) it's worth the price.
Peek-A Who? (Lift the Flap Books, Interactive Books for Kids, Interactive Read Aloud Books)
Peek-A Who? (Lift the Flap Books, Interactive Books for Kids, Interactive Read Aloud Books)
I bought this based on its high ratings. It's a small board book and I have to admit, when I first read through it, I was like, "Is this it?" Then I read it to my 13 month old. And he loved it. The colors, the cutout peekaboo pages, the rhyming. It does peek a who (owl), boo (little booger colored ghost), zoo (group of animals including zebra, penguin, toucan, giraffe elephant), choo choo (train), you (mirror). It's cute and yes, it grew on me once I saw how much my baby loves it.
Then we took it with us to his cousins' house. His 2 year old cousin and even older cousins were amused by this book.
Bottom line, you may not be impressed with this as a parent, but your kid will probably love it, and that's what matters.
The Lotus Eaters & Other Weinbaum Sci-Fi Classics
The Lotus Eaters & Other Weinbaum Sci-Fi Classics
The publishers claim these books are of the highest digital standard. However, the stories are marred by multiple typos. This makes the experience of reading both painful and exasperating.
Some of the typos are understandable -"be" for "he" and vice-versa - and might be missed. But "conies" when the text should be "comes" is utterly ridiculous. How could any reader miss that? Clearly, this book has not been carefully prepared and has not had even the most cursory proof-reading.

I have spent most of my time "reporting content errors" but I have no confidence that Amazon actually does take any notice of readers' reporting.

I have read books produced by volunteers that have no typos. Thus, it should not be impossible for a commercial company to do the same, or at least, much better.

The stories themselves are old-fashioned, but great fun. Pity about the really poor presentation.
Junkyard: Behind the Gates at California's Secretive European-Car Salvage Yard
Junkyard: Behind the Gates at California's Secretive European-Car Salvage Yard
I ordered this in memory of my best friend, who loved classic European cars, especially his beloved (but non-running) Porsche 914. He also loved things that were old and funky and had lots of projects planned that he never got to. He'd have adored this book.

It's a completely different take on the standard automotive photography book, and I didn't fully understand what it was until it arrived. The junkyard of the title is a privately owned salvage yard in Los Angeles that is chock full of junked European classics that Rudi Klein, its enigmatic German-born multimillionaire owner (now deceased), acquired over decades, starting in 1967. During his life, he shied away from any kind of publicity and rejected all efforts to photograph his "collection." But enter German photographer Dieter Rebmann and writer Roland Lowisch, who somehow ingratiated themselves with Klein and received permission to document the contents of the high-class junkyard. for a day in 2000. This book, a snapshot of a moment in time, is the result.

Junkyard is a tribute both to Klein and to the decades of classic cars that he collected. Since all of them are junked, it's safe to say you've never seen them quite like this before. Mercedes, Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari, etc. are all represented, beautifully photographed, faded paint, rust, dust, dents and all. Some are extremely valuable, or would be if they were whole. The photographs are beautiful, and there is so much to see in many of them that the enthusiast will be kept busy for hours absorbing it all.

This is definitely not your standard car photo book, but the unique niche it occupies makes it really special. Klein died in 2001, and his sons have kept the junkyard going. But it's different now--cleaner, smaller, more organized, according to the text.

I love how offbeat the book is and how eccentric the man whose obsession it preserves was. Enjoy.

The case was good, I would not complain but some people do count on the stand and the stand wasn't so good. So for them I'm giving 4 stars in case they are going to be relying on the stand. The phone is held in the case with an adhesive strip about half the size of the phone, you put the rubbery case on the phone and stick the case on the adhesive, that's where the problem comes in with the stand. If you try using the stand it is flimsy and the adhesive begins to pull, if left there long it may have dropped the phone off. I wasn't going to be using the stand as I have a device that I put the phone case in to hold it. I have to turn this case where the back meets the front then it sits in my stand well, that's why I was reasonably satisfied with the case. Thé color was a nice bright pink, I was impressed with that as that is favorite color and the case felt rather sturdy, the magnets held well, the case and the phone lined up perfectly for the controls on the phone. What I did was reinforced the phone on to the case by laying a strip of two faced tape on the back of the rubbery case and stuck it down on the pink case for better hold, then I had no problems at all, if I was to need another one I wouldn't hesitate to order one.

Having tried dozens of other things, I can say that is the Nearest Thing to Sen-Sens currently available!

The size is similar, although the form is different. The flavor is, of course, different, but less so than EVERYTHING ELSE I've tried. And I've tried most everything I could find.

So. Yes, the evil company that discontinued Sen-Sens should be rounded up and sent to Gitmo. Or farther, if possible. I mean ... what sort of jerk discontinues a long-beloved American tradition? But Nipits are here and they are definitely worthwhile. Buy a stash of Nipits before they get consumed by some jerk corporation that will discontinue them because they are so great!
