Soldier's Pay: Carbon Typescript (William Faulkner Manuscripts)
Soldier's Pay: Carbon Typescript (William Faulkner Manuscripts)
I know that Faulkner is considered a great writer, but I had not found him accessible. About forty years ago I read "Light in August", which I thought was okay. My other attempts to read his books failed. So when the Library of America recently issued his earliest works, I figured that maybe was the way I could finally access Faulkner.

And boy did I love "Soldier's Pay"! I know it was an early work, that his style was not fully developed, that it was considered a minor effort, etc.

But, first of all, I could read it and for the most part clearly understand what was happening. Second, I found what was happening was unexpected and fascinating to me, very poignant, funny, odd, involving. Thirdly, while Faulker's ways of spelling, recording people's thoughts, and richly and repeatedly describing things (like the decadent, sensuous South), the book did immerse me in the scenes at a deeper and more viceral level than a more conventional novel would. Thus, it gave me a strong feeling of presence in this oft-romanticized bygone era; it was very nostalgic -- even though I never lived in the South and was born much later.

The characters -- like the fat, odd, scholarly, obnoxious, sexually aggressive Januarius Jones -- were so unique and intriguing. They are not the kind of characters I've found in other books. The plot was similarly odd and unpredictable; with numerous bizarre scenes.

Two drunken soldiers returning from WW1 take a deeply caring interest in another passenger on their train -- a returning captain who has been horribly disfigured, mentally disabled, and reported as dead. Along with a beautiful war widow who is also on the train (and with whom the two able returning soldiers both fall in love), they help the injured officer to reach his home, and his beloved fiancee, who is shocked and horrified by his condition and can't stand to be near him. Of course, as events unfold, it isn't clear what if anything is going through the injured captain's mind.

This is the kind of book I could easily read over again, and it gives me great pleasure just to think about it. It may not be one of Faulkner's better works from a technical standpoint, but it sure hit the spot with me (unlike the next novel in the Library of America volume -- "Moquitoes"!)

I'm hoping I will now be able to enjoy some of his other efforts in the same intense way.
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind: 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed on Your Own Terms
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind: 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed on Your Own Terms
Nothing new in this latest addition to the "self-help" and "leadership" genre of books. Good marketing and a nicely done clean cover caught my attention as one that is an avid reader - particularly of books focused on self-development. However, this one left me disappointed even after two reads. I also take issue with several of the strategies, but for the sake of brevity will focus on the "brules" and "blissipline" concepts. The author encourages readers to question rules; which on the surface is good, but the presumption being made is that all of the readers operate from the same level of morality and wisdom, which would give them the good judgment to pick and choose what works (at least for them). Simply, some societal conventions and mores serve a valid, meaningful and timeless purpose. Living within the "law" to make it simple is often the best path to freedom and not everyone has the ability or maturity to alter and redefine what is best for themselves or how they may interface with society on the whole. The concept of "blissipline" is another one that I have difficulty with as reality dictates that sometimes, despite the best efforts and intentions, life is just plain sour. There is struggle as a fundamental basis of life and usually, this results in goodness. Pursuing happiness and "learning" to find the (greater) good in everything, despite its value assignment as positive, negative or neutral is not only the mark of a mature human being, but is both important to the health of the individual and society as a whole. The notion of living one's "bliss" as a way of life can easily slip into the realm of the self-centered and insular. Where true "happiness" is enduring despite outcomes, "bliss" tends to be temporary (i.e., tied to a specific experience like the birth of a healthy child or getting a new job) and is not practical to attain, let alone maintain for most people once the luster rubs away. Nothing exciting - just a mix of new age humanist philosophies aimed at "millenials" and eastern traditions. The endless name dropping through the book is also tiresome and diminishes the authors credibility.

Bootleg Series 4 : Bob Dylan Live
...just don't pay more than I did here, on Amazon. And I think this was a limited release so your time it is a wastin.' The live band stuff is amazing, and the solo acoustic stuff on this set will make you just want to sit down and listen. And the packaging on this is over the top great. Very thoughtful historical notes, photos and just a job well done. I do not have a bunch of Dylan LP's but sure am happy I bought this.

Chai Piña Colada Owl's Brew Mixer, 16 Ounce Bottle
Oh my bad I was looking for more of the coconut flavor that's associated with Pina Colada flavor this is not that. Plus after opening it you are supposed to use it within two weeks. The flavor was not that enticing that I finished the bottle in two weeks. Definitely not a repurchase for me. I threw mine away so this was a waste of money for me. It says Chai Pina Colada so there you have it.

24V Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter 3000Watt DC 24V to AC120V with Dual AC Outlets with Remote Control 2.4A USB and LED Display
I have used GIANDEL inverters before, and love their products. I am LOVING this new 3000w inverter! I finally have found an inverter that will power my portable AC unit, fan on high, 3.3 cu ft fride/freezer, TV, laptop, and everything else that I have plugged in my conversion van all at once! Granted it drains the batteries really quick, but that's why I run my motor while I have the AC running. What's nice is that the inverter turns itself off when the batteries are low and leaves me with enough reserve power to start my van back up to recharge the system again. It comes packaged very well. The only complaint that I have is that the mounting holes to screw the unit down are directly below other stuff that sticks out like the battery posts. This made installing the unit extremely difficult even for me and I'm a contractor by trade. Other than the hole placement, this is an amazing unit. I would HIGHLY recommend getting this inverter to power your RV or anything else. Plus it has an 18 month warranty and I can tell you from personal experience that they stand behind that warranty. The one time I had an issue with my old 2000w inverter after a year of owning it, they sent me a replacement in 3 days.
The Least of These: One Man's Remarkable Journey in the Fight Against Child Trafficking
The Least of These: One Man's Remarkable Journey in the Fight Against Child Trafficking
I serve as the Director of Tactical Operations for JOY International and travel around the world with Dr. Jeff which means I know him very well. His book is an absolute must read!! I have read The Least of These, I personally know and work with the author. Dr. Jeff is a man of integrity, character, sacrifice, and driven by God’s love to do whatever is necessary to rescue the least of these which is amplified throughout his book. Am I biased in my review? Absolutely, because Dr. Jeff is my dear friend and brother in Christ—I know his heartbeat for those enslaved, his motives, and his many sacrifices to do whatever is necessary to bring hope and joy to the least of these. There is no other book like The Least of These. As you read you will cry, you will laugh, you will experience a wide range of emotions—you will be challenged to take action. The Least of These is not a book about statistics of those enslaved in the cruel world of sexual exploitation, it’s a book about real people, real pain and suffering, and real hope and joy for those who have been rescued and the on-going mission to rescue the least of these. As you read you will be challenged. In the words of Dr. Jeff “Awareness without action is apathy.”

I have become kind of a Stance junkie and these Cap America socks are now my most favorite of my collection. Perfect thickness, cool design, very comfortable (as Stance should be!). Love them. I put all the Stance socks I like into my Amazon cart and watch for them to go on sale and then buy them. You can get a pretty good deal that way.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe
!*! murdering Hulk is 2 pages...

Murder of Thor is both confusing, aswell as kinda clever maybe.

!!Spoilers!!

Deadpool heals together from at least 5 different pieces finds banner within about 8-9 hours and while standing right in front of him kills him with a sword. WTF? With one stroke I must add...

Thor throws his hammer at deadpool and deadpool "I THINK" jumps over the hammer while it was flying towards Thor and enlarged it so that it crushed Thor.... Took me awhile to decide that's what happened otherwise deadpool kicked Third hammer back at him... Also pretty sure moonknight fight was BS and I've never read any of that characters comics, big assumption I know but well bet you won't think I'm wrong...

Rubie's mens Deadpool Adult Overhead Fabric Costume Mask, As Shown, One Size US
Rubie's mens Deadpool Adult Overhead Fabric Costume Mask, As Shown, One Size US

Puntos a favor:
+No produce mucho calor.

Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution
Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution
Should be shown in Civics...:0 I know we don't teach that anymore. Absolute a goldmine documentary! I was born in 1955, the BPP already had it's zenith when I was in teens, but the momentum and effects were still strong and a buoy of hope that kept so many on the wave . I am proud of these radicals and lovers of mankind for having the courage to stand up against the oppression that remains even today. The energetic idea formed and remains forever: Power to the People because the key to human progress is us, not the current fake leaders and corporations that cast their unfortunate plans upon the weak and helpless of society, who have now sought to turn free speech into thought crime. The Black Panthers put intentions into action and caused many wonderful changes to take place. Of course there were failures too, but we must learn from our mistakes. Eternal vigilance we need a grassroots movement like BPP today to continue keeping the oppressors on guard, we are not free yet and especially people of color are extremely dis-empowered and like all mis or under represented at the highest levels of govt. Why is this? White supremacy and American Exeptionalism are two diseases we must find a cure for immediately if not sooner. As you are reading this Pres Trump may have already attacked Iran or invaded Venuzuela

Marvel Legends Series Fantastic Four 6" Collectible Action Figure Human Torch Toy, Premium Design, 4 Accessories, 3 Build-A-Figure Parts
Good figure. Happy to have a version of Johnny where he's in his outfit like the rest of the team. However, it should have been accompanied by more accessories such as an alternate flame-on head to complete the look. Real missed opportunity to make this figure a must-have and staple of the set. Mine came with plenty of paint defects and loose butterfly joints. Somewhat of a miss for me, dog.
The Lord of the Rings: Weapons and Warfare - An Illustrated Guide to the Battles, Armies and Armor of Middle-Earth
The Lord of the Rings: Weapons and Warfare - An Illustrated Guide to the Battles, Armies and Armor of Middle-Earth
WOW!! This is - bar none - the best "The Return of the King" movie tie-in book in the market right now. The others being "The Return of the King Photo Guide" and "The Return of the King Visual Companion.," that is. Along with Brian Sibley's "The Making of the Movie Trilogy" (released in 2002) and the "Art of" series, this is one of those books that you will want to keep and refer to again and again. It is one of the most amazingly detailed, visually rich and impressively researched books on the LOTR movie trilogy that you will likely come across.
I am a huge fan of "The Lord of the Rings." "Huge" in the sense that I have read the books multiple times in the last several years, own the theatrical and extended versions of the films, and have read Tolkien's other books - including "The Silmarillion" and "The Unfinished Tales." You may say I am more than your standard fan and that it takes a lot to impress me. This book, however, impressed me. What is commendable about this book is the amount of information it contains and the painstaking research that author Chris Smith has done to bring this book about. He clearly has done his homework and not only researched "The Lord of the Rings" books but also collaborated closely with WETA (the special/visual effects wizards behind the movie trilogy), director Peter Jackson and crew. There are references to "The Hobbit", "The Unfinished Tales," and "The Lord of the Rings" (including the appendices) sprinkled throughout this book. That, to me, is remarkable.
This fantastic book covers all of the notable warriors (good and bad), battles and skirmishes that took place throughout the trilogy as well as the respective armor, weapons, cultures, fighting styles and (where applicable) battle plans/strategies that we see in the films. For the warriors, everyone from Aragorn, Boromir, Isildur, Theoden, Eomer, Denethor, Gandalf, Legolas, the hobbits and Gimli to the Easterlings, the Corsairs of Umbar, the Haradrim, Sauron, the Army of the Dead (yes!) and the various types of Orcs and Uruk-hai are featured in this book. Their weapons and armor (weapon descriptions, names, pictures/drawings, and inscriptions, etc) are described in detail. For instance, differences between the various orcs (berserker uruk-hai, Mordor orc, Moria orc, etc) and their specific roles and functions are shown. The Rohirric and Gondorian cultures are explored - their emblems, flags, origins, weaponry, etc. There is a battle plan for the Battle of the Second Age, Helms Deep and The Battle of Pelennor Fields also in this book. Even the skirmish in the Mines of Moria is included.
In summary, even the most discerning Lord of the Rings fan will enjoy this book. If you think you know everything about the books or films, there are bound to be a few facts or images in this book that will surprise you. At 224 pages, this is a hefty book and each page is loaded with information. It is not all text, however. There are hundreds of beautiful illustrations and full-color pictures that really are a feast for those who are big on visuals. I highly recommend it!
The Coming Storm
The Coming Storm
This book appears to be a new release when you buy it, but in fact it's a compilation of two old Nora Roberts books that were written in the 1980's. If I had realized this, I wouldn't have bought the book in the first place. But I did buy this book without realizing this. I took it on a beach vacation with me and I committed to reading the stories despite their age. There were a handful of scenarios that felt dated, but otherwise the age of the stories wasn't too distracting. The first story wasn't great. I felt that the female character proclaimed her love way too fast, and then was ready to walk out on love just as quickly. 2 stars for that story. The second story is far better, and I really liked it. The banter between the characters is witty and entertaining. 5 stars for that story. I gave the overall book 3 stars based on not liking the first story, really liking the second story, and feeling misled by this book appearing to be a new release.

A Bond Undone: Legends of the Condor Heroes Vol. 2
A Bond Undone: Legends of the Condor Heroes Vol. 2
This is THE classic story from Jin Yong, my favorite Wuxia author. Guo Jing's adventure continues as he learns more and more powerful kungfu from great masters. It is an engrossing read.

Minus one star for the naming convention. I understand why they may have chosen some of the names to not confuse English readers with too many Chinese names, but it does take away from the authenticity of the work somewhat. If Guo Jing and Yang Kang get to keep their names, why does Huang Rong become Lotus. Other names that jump out: Apothecary Huang (seriously, this is the only real name he is afforded in this translation), Count Seven Hong, Zephyr Lu, and so on. I've gotten used to it, but it still irks me somewhat.

This CD collection is a treasure for any fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" fantasy universe. The Father of Modern Fantasy himself reads and sings poems, passages, and songs from "The Hobbit", "The Lord of the Rings", and "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil". Additionally, J.R.R.'s son, Christopher Tolkien, reads long excerpts from "The Silmarillion", the hefty mythology behind Middle-Earth.

J.R.R. Tolkien's recordings were made in 1952, two years before "The Fellowship of the Ring" was published. His readings and songs are insight into what he saw out of his own writing. You can feel his enthusiasm when he's singing and laughing to merry rhymes, or his grief when he sings Galadriel's lament. He passionately acts out the parts from "Riddles in the Dark" and "Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit", making different voices for each character. He fluidly pronounces the Quenya lyrics as they are meant to be sung/spoken. Listening to these tracks gives you the opportunity to glimpse the Middle Earth Tolkien saw.

Regarding the "never-published poem 'The Mirror of Galadriel'", it isn't actually unpublished. They're referring to CD 1 Track 17 ("Frodo's Lament for Gandalf"), which IS a poem Frodo reads in "Fellowship of the Ring" (Book II, Chapter VII). From a review on an audio cassette collection...

>>> "The second to last poem is, according to the blurb that came with the tape, an unpublished poem that was apparently intended for inclusion in The Fellowship of the Ring. I am confused by this, because the penultimate recording is simply Sam's poetic tribute to Gandalf from 'The Mirror of Galadriel'. Until now I had never found this a particularly moving or significant poem. However, Tolkien gives the words a simple gravity that perfectly matches the (supposed) passing of Gandalf the Grey."
>>> - From Martin Baker's review of "JRR Tolkien Reads Excerpts from The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring" on Tolkien Society

...it appears that this "never-published poem" is really just a 30-something-year-old error that was never corrected.

Several reviewers have complained about the sound quality. These tracks are actually better than you realize. I first heard many of these readings on Harper Collins's audio cassette collection, and it's quite clear the tracks have been remastered since. I hear little of the static, popping, and clipping from the cassette versions, and the volume levels are more balanced. Happily, you can still hear some of the charming background noises like creaking chairs, shuffling papers, and cars driving up the road. When I hear those environmental noises, I feel like I'm in the room with Tolkien, listening to him sing in person.

In CDs 3 and 4, Christopher Tolkien's reads from "The Silmarillion", the book he assembled and published after his father died. "The Silmarillion" in its entirety isn't for everyone, since it's a pretty dry read. But the tale of Beren and Luthien on the third CD should be interesting even to casual fans, as it's the inspiration for the Aragorn/Awren romance that's explored in the movies, and the storytelling is reminiscent of Greek epics. The quality on Christopher Tolkien's reading are much clearer than his father's recordings, and sound much like a professional audiobook.

If you're looking at this product because you used to have the Harper/Caedmon audio cassette collection, you can buy this knowing it will contain all those recordings plus a few extras. I used to own the 4-cassette collection that included all the content from CDs 1, 2, and 3, and all the recordings are familiar. The only difference I've found so far is the additional readings in CD 4 and that the 1952 recordings are cleaner and more balanced. (In a few days I'll properly compare the cassettes and CDs and update the review if there are any missing tracks on the CDs.)

All-in-all this is an invaluable addition to any fan's collection. If you're a Tolkien fan yourself or if you're shopping for a Tolkien fan, you can't go wrong with this. I've been listening to these tracks for over a decade, and find joy in them every time.
God's Formula: A Novel of Ian Fleming and JRR Tolkien in WWII France (The Mythmakers Trilogy Book 2)
God's Formula: A Novel of Ian Fleming and JRR Tolkien in WWII France (The Mythmakers Trilogy Book 2)
This is the sequel to No Dawn for Men but it is a wonderful standalone story by itself. It is exciting with espionage and intrigue and will keep you turning pages.

In 1939, Walter Friedeman, a scientist in Nazi Germany has discovered the formula to enrich uranium in three months. Realizing that he will be giving Hitler the key to controlling the world and the evil he will be unleashing, he devises a way slip the formula out of Germany to England via his teenage son. The method he uses is ingenious, not even the boy realizes he has it. Thus starts the race between Germany and England to capture the boy and formula.

This book is historical fiction although many of the characters were actually involved in WWII. I had heard about Ian Fleming and J. R. R. Tolkien, (both authors) and wanted to know if they were really part of the war effort. Fleming was a well know intelligence agent during this period. Tolkien was trained to decipher codes during the war but there is no record that he was actually used. The rest of characters are well developed and believable. The story is a roller coaster ride till the end.

Pick this book up today, it’s a great read for a cold autumn evening. Judging by this novel, I can’t wait to read the first one.

Alice's Abenteuer im Wunderland (German Edition)
Alice's Abenteuer im Wunderland (German Edition)
Just be aware that these reviews are confusing because some are for the old zimmerman version and some are for the echo library version. The old zimmerman version has the old German script and original illustrations. It has also changed the parables to fit the German culture. This was done with the full support and approval of Lewis Carroll. It is out of print, but some of the reviews still refer to this older version. The echo library version, maroon cover, is in modern english type and has no illustrations. Sad. There is no explanation of the text or translation, though it may be direct from the old zimmerman version. If you can get a copy of the older version with the old script and illustrations it is a treasure! Plus it is beneficial to know how to read the old script.

Harry Potter: Diagon Alley: A Movie Scrapbook
Harry Potter: Diagon Alley: A Movie Scrapbook
This book reminds me of a book I read when I was a child, the jolly postman. I love the pages that had letters to unfold and magazines and articles and invitations to take out and read and put back in envelopes. This is like that! With cold out articles from the daily prophet and posts and maps, there is a lot of cool extras that come out of the book rather than just flipping through and reading the pages! So much fun for any potter fan!
Sugar Daddy Diaries
Sugar Daddy Diaries
If it hadn't been a book expressing raw feelings of someone of the opposite sex then this book would have had nothing for me. It does not get any more detailed, exciting, or raunchier than the sample. In fact it got harder to read, at 20% i wish i could have my money back and after 75% I wish I had given up because here it got the most painful and remained that way. A lot of repetition about what type of champagne she drunk, what clothes she was bought, and lots of hotel and restaurant name dropping. Lots of repetition of self psychoanalysis on sexual morals that turned into indirect preaching. She never learnt any seduction skills, she was beautiful and all she needed to do was turn up. She says she values good conversation but failed to put any in the book. All sex scenes were little more than a kiss, caress, and then we recovered from sex, even when she met the two most beautiful kinkiest wildest richest swinging couple in the world.

She complained alot about her clients but what did she expect. If a nice emotionally and socially challanged guy can only get a girl by paying her ridiculous amounts of money for her company. There's no reason to lay into him because he is not interestering. Getting annoyed that he enjoyed having her by his side and enjoyed looking at her on the holiday he had paid her to attend. She laid into him and embarrassed him in front of everyone because he kept wanting her by his side when he kept returning to the boot repair shop due to his ocd, and it stopped her skiing.
The Hobbit Gandalf Beard Kit
The Hobbit Gandalf Beard Kit
I bought this to wear with my Dumbledore costume on Halloween. Straight away, this wig & beard looked great; however, as the day went on, it progressively became frizzier and frizzier to the point that I had to try to run a wide tooth comb through it with detangler, which only resulted in loss of lots of hair, on my costume, all over my furniture, on my rug, and everywhere else other than the garbage can and an altered appearance of the wig & beard. Maybe it was my imagination, but I swear that after trying to detangle it, it didn't appear as full. Bottom line, it was a decent looking wig and beard for one day at school and night following my kids around trick-or-treating.
Silver Buffalo Harry Potter House Pride 3D MDF Photo Frame, 4" x 6", Multicolored
Silver Buffalo Harry Potter House Pride 3D MDF Photo Frame, 4" x 6", Multicolored
I really love the vibrancy of the gryffindor colors, and the 3-D images on it. Mine came with a black backing, which I think looks better than a white backing.

However, whoever thought to make this a tabletop frame with 3-D images protruding off the bottom wasn’t thinking about that much.

The broomstick bristles and the bottom of the captain badge is pressed against the surface, and may bend over time.

I wish there was an option to get table top or a hanging hook. I will be converting mine to a hanging frame, since I think that would look much better.

I also had to trim my 4x6 photo slightly so that it could fit.

Definitely recommend for any Harry Potter fans, but I wish a tabletop stand was an option, and not the only choice.
Harry Potter: The John Williams Soundtrack Collection
Harry Potter: The John Williams Soundtrack Collection
The first three Harry Potter movies were each scored by John Williams. To date, the only soundtrack albums available have been the original versions, each a single CD, for a grand total of 3 1/2 hours of music. Now, finally, after 18 years, we can finally listen to the entire score for the first few movies, accompanied by an assortment of extras (e.g. trailer music, alternate cuts, and so forth). Playing time for the 7 disc set is just a few minutes shy of 8 hours. And realize the three movies back to back run about 7 1/2 hours, so we are truly getting the entire score this time.

Production values for the boxed set are excellent. A box that looks nice on the CD shelf contains one overall booklet, two double CD jewel cases, and one triple CD jewel case. In addition to the overall booklet, each jewel case contains yet another booklet discussing the one movie score contained within. Audio quality is superb, and even a quick comparison to the original mass-produced discs reveals a sense of being in the room with the orchestra that wasn't always quite there before.

While the HP movies that followed were scored by other composers, I hope LaLaLand follows this set up with another complete score for all the rest.

Vikings Season 1
Vikings Season 1
Finally! The complete Vikings: Season 1 U.S. MGM version blu-ray Import is available in Canada from Fulfillment Express CA!

I ordered this Season 1 U.S. import version November 21, 2014 and it arrived quickly by mail, in perfect condition. It is in the charcoal colored box with the V flap exactly as you see it in this U.S import version option from Fulfillment Express CA. It has the nine unrated episodes and hours of extras. The price drop then was around $36 or $38.00 CND. So if you are looking for the complete Season 1 import version from the U.S., you might want to save this import in your wish list and hope for a price drop. Mine was NOT the Italian import version now available as well. Sound quality and visuals are excellent.

Once I saw first hand that this was the real U.S. import Blu-ray, I then ordered the U.S. MGM Season 2 Blu-ray import version from Import CD's in the U.S. It also arrived earlier than expected. Like Season 1, it has all the uncut episodes available and hours of extras. Just a note here - if your import order is over $50 CND, the new Canadian import fee might apply. You might want to check on that.

UPDATE 8/12/2019 - I have tried everything on the forums to get this router to work with a hotel wifi that requires a login screen access. The issue (described in detail below) is the router does not allow the login screen to appear. I do not recommend this router if your goal is to use it while traveling.

Original Post:
I purchased the GL-ARM300M router specifically to use while I travel so I could watch Netflix on my Amazon firestick, however, I have been unable to connect to the hotel WiFi using this in repeater mode.

The GL-ARM300M router does not work with an typical hotel WiFi network in repeater mode.

The typical hotel wifi network uses an unsecured network that does not require a password, however it does have a login screen that has to be filled out to gain access to the internet. Normally the screen pops up when using a browser to select a website.

I have seen several postings on this on the gl-inet forum, and even posted my own help request, however none seem to have a solution. The suggested setting adjustment of turning the "DNS Rebinding Attack Protection" off seems to have no effect.

My old router was a TP-Link - TL-WR802N that performed this function flawlessly. Once logged in, the hotel screen would come up very reliably.

I purchased the GL-ARM300M router because it has VPN support, but if I cannot log into the internet, it is useless. I guess I will go back to the TP-Link.

Update Jun 2019 - I have now tried this router at with multiple hotel chains (Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, etc.), and was unable to get the router to work consistently. Occasionally I was able to get it to connect, however it would drop within a few moments. The VPN simply does not work. On the rare occasion I get it to connect, once I turn on the VPN it crashes again. At the same hotels, I used my TP-Link and had no problems connecting.

I switched to this router specifically to get the VPN functionality. At this point I give up. It simply does not work as advertised.

My 3.5 year old is obsessed with Peppa pig and she loves these!! We bought her the lights and sounds house for Christmas, along with the original Peppa family. She received the tin purse as a gift that she keeps all her animals in. Purchased these to add to her collection, she loves them and they’re good quality. Some of the Black has rubbed off on their shoes on the set she’s owned for 6 months now, but not bad for toys that get played with literally every day, several times a day. My only complaint is, for the $, I wish there was a set of characters that came without Peppa. We have 4 Peppa between all of her sets.
